ah, but something is different! yes, very different.

there are bits of confetti and multi-colored streamers in her hair, on her shoulders ... well, doesn't that seem a little out of place? ]

Today, it rained confetti.

[ she smiles a little. ]

[ she means her co-workers and other people who were present when it happened. she then turns the feed off. she has to clean up and get back to work, but she felt that it needed to be said. ]

( ooc: Soooo I honestly don't know if Nadeko has a listed birthday anywhere, but the birthday I have headcanoned for her is on February 7th. She turned sixteen. c: We had discussed via plurk that her co-workers at Violet Systems threw a birthday luncheon, hence the confetti, and we were kinda debating on whether or not there would be a log for this (which I would still be totally up for if we wanted to backdate it!) ... either way, I wanted to get this up for her. :D )

[When Tonegawa appears on the feed, eagle-eyed viewers might notice that his nose is a little red and that he has a half-empty box of tissues on his desk. Looks like someone 'caught up' right into a cold.

His ~~dulcet tones~~ voice also sounds thicker than normal but he seems determined to retain some sort of dignity; indeed, his tone is less aggressive than faintly anthropological, as if he’s aiming for the nature documentary presenter effect.]

Riddle me this: why is it so difficult to find good help these days? Sometimes I wonder if I’m the only one I can rely on, period.

All those exasperating little mistakes, the miscommunications, the incompetence: I shouldn’t have to micro-manage every fool in the building. I outgrew petty grunt-level house-training before I hit forty, and it seems ridiculous that I should be made to condescend to it now. Once again I find myself asking why so many men choose to behave like small children, waiting for their mothers to take them by the hand- is it ignorance or sheer laziness, do you suppose? I am, of course, fairly certain that I am not anyone’s mother.

[He’s drumming his fingers irritably on the desk-top now and as if on cue, someone off-camera hastily hands him a cup of coffee, which he deigns to accept with a steely look.]

One more thing. Contrary to whatever you might have heard from my secretary this morning, had you called Imperial Finance before ten AM, I have not taken a leave of sickness for the next week and I don’t fucking plan to.

[Well, Meowth's definitely not afraid to be his normal catlike self all over the network now. He may have lost a boss, but he gained a small gang... And he still has Caster to work for. Life is pretty frickin' sweet.

And yet... He is definitely missing something.

Currently, he's positioned in the window of a fancy jewelry store that's all done up for Valentine's Day, wildly gesticulating to one of the members of his gang who apparently wouldn't know good taste if it bit him in the back pocket. Such is the life of a cat who can't just waltz into jewelry stores on his own and slap down a couple of c-notes. Eesh.

After a second, he sighs in an exasperated manner and focuses on the NV.]

I think this'll be the first year I actually got a reason to celebrate Valentine's Day. [A little laugh and then he pauses and starts flailing at the window.] Hey! Not that one, you lug! She's a lady, not some cheap floozy! Use your head a little! [Another sigh and then he mutters.] At least Jessie and James had some class.

[Okay, so his life is missing a couple of things, but he's convincing himself that he never would have succeeded if Jessie and James were here, even if... His successes are pure dumb luck. Because shut up.

I haven't a single doubt that most are well aware that Valentine's Day is next week coming. There is also an inquiry I must make myself. I must admit, with some embarrassment, that I am absolutely awful at dancing. I know it would take perhaps more than a miracle to make something decent out of my ability to dance, but if anyone would be willing to help me learn how to dance the basic steps without tripping over my own toes before Tuesday, I would be forever grateful and would either pay you for your time, or encourage you to place any order with Funtom free of charge in time for Valentine's Day.

[the NV turns on to show Rachel in all her... well, she's dressed up a little bit, as much as Rachel can dress up anyways, and she's placed her NV on a table so that she can sit across from it, her arms and legs both crossed]

My boyfriend-- you probably know him, his name is Finn Hudson and he's kind of cute and a little weird and really, really tall-- asked me to move in with him last week. I just... we want to make sure that we have enough money, and I really love living with Kurt and Blaine, they're great roommates, I think they need to be alone sometimes, but...

[and a pause because she was nervous and kind of distracted herself-- this isn't anything like acting or singing or performing at all, because now she has to try to do this the right way]

Anyways, I need to find a job around here? I don't know what my power is or anything like that, but I'm very, very good with performance arts and-- I haven't graduated from high school yet, but I was about to finish my junior year back home, so I'm pretty smart, too, if there are any jobs that need that kind of thing.
