It's been such a long time since I've checked in with the network. I was going to wait for this technology problem to be over, seeing as I'm not from the cell phone generation... [Mr. Gold begins pleasantly. He's outside, the weather beautiful enough that sitting on a park bench seems like the best idea in the world.] Becoming a lurker is not very good for business. Not good at all.

[He pauses.] My pawnshop, "Crossroads", has been open for a few months, now, but we've only just finished the reconstruction on it. Something that was desperately needed, if anyone has stopped in before. I was thinking of letting it past, but some sort of celebration for it sounds nice, doesn't it? The Uzushio Ryokan has been kind enough to host this shindig for me, I'd like to invite everyone to it. We're looking at the 22nd, starting around 7:00 pm.

[He smiles slightly, shifting the cane that his legs are holding up in front of him.] Myself and my associate, Mr. Sark, have found several interesting items to put up for auction, if that will entice anyone further. [He chuckles at that.]

We're also looking for help, to expand our little "family", as it were. If you happen to have a gift for gab, maybe some experience in sales, well. Someone like that would be a welcome addition. Just contact me, Mr. Gold, on my NV, or come into the shop.

A three part text question send anonymously a few hours later. )

[ooc: Depending on your answers, Mr. Gold will invite you to an "after party" at the Uzushio Ryokan. A meeting of the minds for all the baddies out there, but if you'd like to attend by text over Mr. Gold's NV, he'll work with you on that. Party date changed to Saturday the 22nd!]

[There's a few lamps on in the room, but otherwise it seems to be completely dark, which makes sense, considering the time of night. Mr. Gold is sitting at a desk, the camera pointing up from it's surface, polishing what appears to be an antique silver tea set.]

I realize this may be a bit redundant, but it's been some time since I arrived, here. Almost a complete month. [He shakes his head, setting a cup down and picking up another one.]

And Father's Day is today, though I am catching the tail end of it. I guess I had some bad memories stirred up. It's very difficult, to be in a city without your children, or to be a child without your parents. The idea of the "orphan hero" is a main focus for many tales. Personally, I've never found living a life without one's family to be better then being with them.

[He sighs, picking up the tea pot, next.]

Getting settled in here has been much easier then I thought it might be. I began work at this pawnshop (named "Pawntificate", such a silly name), and then the next week, the owner was jailed for fraud. Imagine, thousands of dollars given for such beautiful pieces, and then they turned out to be fake. Perhaps he should have learned how to tell the difference between a real work of art and a phony.

But... that leaves the place to me. I was thinking of changing the name to "Crossroads", seeing as it's located at an intersection, and I have a fondness for those sorts of tales. A place to make deals; is that not what a Pawnshop offers? I think I'll keep the name as it is, for now. Call it superstition on my part.

I'm looking for workers, if anyone is interested. Call Mr. Gold, and I'll be happy to speak to you. [He smiles.] And if you happen to know anyone looking to sell a priceless heirloom... do give me a call. Happy Father's Day, everyone.

[While this may be a strange new world, Mr. Gold considered it lucky that he could find several things that reminded him of home. Not Storybrooke; that was not his real home. It wasn’t the home that his son had grown up in, or near the forest that he used to play in with his boy. But there was an ocean, and there was a beach, and he was currently on it.]

I would have never taken the time to spend it on a beach. [Starts out conversationally, voice lightly accented, as the video shows off the ocean.] But enjoying life’s simple pleasures is something most people are lacking, these days. I’m sure there’s something out there that anyone, if given the chance, would do. Something worthwhile, a pleasurable way to spend their day off, if they ever gave themselves one.

But from what I gathered from the greeters, there seems to be a lot of people taking the day off. A sickness, is that what I have heard? And here I thought the days of the plague were over.

Perhaps, if they're able, someone could find time in their day to come spend it at the beach with me. Wile away the hours having a nice chat, if you will. Or, perhaps, I can sit here and have a conversation over this device. How about this, to those on the network: I’ll make you a deal. An hour of your time, for whatever it is you may wish of a lonely man in return.

[ooc: Permission's Post! Only needed if your character might make a deal with Mr. Gold.]
