Grief is a powerful thing my friends.

[He looks quite solemn.]

I advise you not make any hasty decisions while mourning the loss of someone or something. It can lead to horrible decisions. They may cost you something precious, they may cost you a hefty sum. They may cost you even more than you want to pay.

[The camera spins around to the most ugly lamp you've ever seen. It's mustard yellow with a dark velvety green and terracotta floral pattern on the lampshade. Hawke just shakes his head at it.]

Grief is not your friend, especially in decorating. Don't listen to it. What do you do with something so horrible? I paid a hefty sum for what it is, or else I would cleave it in two quite gladly.

[And then he flashes his usual cheeky smile before signing off.]

[Hawke is in view of his little magical tome of an NV. He has a slightly powerful look to his stride at the moment, and has a couple of bruises visible on his arms and his cheeks. The modern clothes look quite odd on the muscled man, well. Probably not to you but he's not sure about these... T-shirt things. Or these jeans. But who was too judge.]

This place is very odd. These colourful little pieces of parchment constitute money. But I'm unsure of their worth? I have witnessed of course the use of these things by now, but it seems odd that we do not pay with silvers and sovereigns.

[He appears to have about one hundred dollars in his hand. Rolled neatly as he tucks it away in one of his pockets.]

Another thing I've learned whilst being here, is that you can manipulate these pieces of paper without ever having seen them. It's illegal of course, but how ingenious to be a theif without having to do any of the hard bits. I have to say, this technology is an odd blessing I think.

[He doesn't know about filtering yet, but he's not the subtlest of people either.]

So, Fenris, Zevran and Anders if I haven't completely burned that bridge, drinks on me?
fluffybeard: (♣ UNDER CONTROL Hawke)

[There is a man in a bar. In a corner, alone. He has a glass in his hand and a sword on his back. He looks flushed and well within the throws of alcohol. He sighs heavily and turns a page of the book he calls and NV and starts speaking.]

So I have a hypothetical for all you fellow prisoners.

[He smiled, though it wasn't one of happiness, it was one that portrayed a different emotion. It was filled with a bitter sadness and the only way the man could be smiling was because that was his way of dealing with it.]

If you arrived here... and someone you loved had no idea who you are what would you do? Cause I've been thinking it over. My first thought was to get drunk and that worked really well. I don't think it's helped me suss the issue out any. I guess that means Garret Hawke is back on the market.

[He drains the rest of his glass and puts it down with a thunk on the table.]

Any and all suggestions welcomed, don't be shy. Unless your name is Anders. Then you can be shy. Very shy. In fact, forget I said anything.

Ah- yes. Hello. This... is Garret Hawke here. The Champion of Kirkwall. I appear to be in a place that's... not where I went to sleep. So either I've been drinking in the Hanged man again, or I've been kidnapped by some form of wily demon.

[He sighed and gave that beard a scratch.]

The thing is, I'm a big fan of knowing where I am, and there's a lot of things here that really make me question what I had to drink last night. These buildings don't look like anything in Kirkwall. Or Fereldan. Maybe these are tevinter buildings? No. Fenris probably would have commented on how they were built by slaves or something.

[He shook his head and sighed.]

Well. If anyone could give me information I'd pay them in... [He checked for his purse.] A charming smile and perhaps even a flirty wink.
