[The feed turns on, and Raul Creed and Vincent Law are on the screen. Vincent is the one standing up, and Raul is the one sitting down on a park bench, a brightly colored playground in the background. It seemed the right thing to do, to go back to what could only be the scene of the crime.]

This is a problem. Whoever has done this is going to pay. ["Vincent" says formally, very unlike how he usually talks, and the expression on his face is one of anger, much different than the usual one.

"Raul" starts to say something.]
Maybe we should--

[Then "Vincent" turns to "Raul" and yells.] Be quiet! Or better yet, get the hell out of my body! Don’t touch anything, don’t say anything, just get out of there!

If you could just let me get a word in edgewise-- ["Raul" says plaintively, before getting cut off again.

Raul is this close to tackling him, but "Vincent" looks back at the NV instead.]

This is Raul Creed speaking, and we require some assistance. Preferably of the kind that deals in supernatural means, or has had experience with this "body switching" experience already. We know that this is not the first time this has happened, but I want this man ["Vincent" points at "Raul".] Out of my body immediately.

[Ah, at last an expression that looks at home on Raul's face. He looks fed up.]

You think I'm enjoying this? I'd get out if I could, believe me. I'm not all that happy with you in my body either, you know.

["Vincent" turns back and looks at "Raul".]

Shut! Up!

[The feed ends.]

[ooc note: Raul's replies will be from Vincent's journal and vice-versa!]

[ This isn't the kind of post he usually makes. Still, he has feelings about what's been happening lately and wants to address them.

There's a brief silence when the feed starts rolling. Eventually, he clears his throat. ]

Hey, everyone.

I know most of you...probably don't know me, but- I've been thinking a lot lately about the things we've been hearing in the news. A lot of it isn't good, and a lot of it can be downright discouraging.

I'd just like to know- is there something good that's happened here to you that couldn't have happened anywhere else? Whether it was someone you met, or something you did, or...anything.

I know it's hard here, but...even when the bad outweighs the good, I think it's the good we should focus on.

[ An awkward pause. ]

...That's all.

[ He fumbles with his NV a little before shutting off the feed. ]

Today, I was called in to my daughters' school for a parent and teacher conference. While I would like to say that this was a surprise, I have to say, I know that both Nana and Pino are very smart, and very hardworking. I saw no reason for them to call in a parent unless something had happened, and I was informed that every parent was called in to have a discussion with the teacher about how their child is progressing in the classroom.

[He would smile, but then, he's much more serious about this then anything else.]

It seems that the teachers were concerned about my daughter's speedy progress in class. They actually gave her a lower grade, because she didn't show her work on the paper. The answers were correct, and yet they saw fit to punish her because she had found a speedier way to give them what they wanted. I, as a parent, was outraged.

[That's putting it lightly. He made a little bit of a mess in the classroom.]

Here, they made me sit in one of those absurd desks made for children, and then went over how many times Pino had raised her hand, because she knew the answer, compared to the other children who did not know the answer. And then they told me that she doesn't use free time like the other children! They said she was strange, and she would copy someone else's painting. [He's getting a little angrier.] She's a child! And here they blame her for something that is not really her fault! [Breathe. Calm down.]

Thought of the day: Do not penalize the child because you are too ignorant to know that they are right.

[He pauses, taking the time to think of what he wants to say next.]

Aside from my comments on the current state of the Siren's Port school system, there are two other items on my list tonight. As you all know, we recently lost Yako Katsuragi from our midst. She was a good friend, and a hard worker, and she will be sorely missed. She was in charge of running the Newcomer Community Center, as well as scheduling all of the activities that took place there. Now that she's gone, we are without someone to maintain the community center. So, I would like to put a call out for everyone to step up to the plate, so to speak. If you think you could do a good job of making sure the center runs smoothly, I would be glad to look at your resume. Of course, whoever runs the center will also be granted access to the Newcomer Political Party and all it's meetings from here on out. We need your help. I don't want the center to close, just because we all decided not to do something about it.

[He looks saddened by that statement. It would be a shame to shut down the center because of no help.]

The other thing I'd like to mention is the Newcomer Business Convention that Mr. Chaolan has been setting up. I, as well as the rest of the Newcomer Political Party, think that this will be a great opportunity to bring to light other business in the area, and to help other Newcomers out there. The NPP will be backing the convention, and I hope that every Newcomer who currently runs a business, or knows of a business friendly and neutral to Newcomers, will participate in this event.

Thank you for your time.

[ The feed opens, a sliver of broken light filtering down into a narrow alley, largely left in shadow. The resin of darkness is thick in the night air, almost pulsing with malignancy as sounds of the already dead break the stillness with distant shrieks.

And yet it does not phase him, a faint outline of red molded against the dark. Two pinpricks of light shine, but coldly from where he sits, leaning against crumbling brick wall, his features largely obscured. ]

The truth.

[ The voice is soft but clear, a coarse resonance like age-old gravel. ]

Ever since the world began, it has been a thing greatly sought after. For ages long, men have questioned, seeking with all diligence the hows and whys of creation. They have traveled far, leaving all else behind, for the answers they so ardently desire. Desperate to know, desperate to see, they've torn themselves and their worlds apart, sought counsel from the very gods, and still come away dissatisfied.

[ He turns his head, a piercing weight to that eerie stare. ]

Tell me, Siren's Port. What is your truth?

[The little hologram that shows up on everyone's NV is that of Re-l Mayer, wearing a pair of jeans and a tank top, and not looking like she's bothered in the least by the temperatures. More importantly, she looks agitated, though it's difficult to see too much detail considering the hologram isn't very large.]

Am I the only one going out of my mind over here? The same goddamn thing, day after day after day... It's worse than home! At least there I could take a day off without feeling guilty because the same people keep dying and getting hurt. No one's listening. No one's believing anything. I've even had to resort to looking up a fortune teller and someone with precognition powers to ask if they see anything in the future, some sort of disaster or time loop--

[She sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose.]

I just look insane. I've had to watch the same accident happen every day. I've gotten the same call about a couple that keep getting hit by the same truck speeding out of some parking lot.

[It's grating on her. The helplessness is mounting, stifling. She can save a few people but everyone else dies anyway. And it just keeps happening without any way to stop it.]

I want any officer who can hear this to meet me tomorrow morning outside of where that traffic jam is going to be around 9am. We can set up one or two traffic cops and hopefully something will change. If not, we can intervene this time. All of us. [They have enough magic users and powerful people on their team that they should be able to stop it.] And then we can move on from there. I don't care if this needs to be repeated every single goddamn day until something happens. I can't do this alone.

[She folds her arms across her chest, though it might look like she's almost hugging herself.]

Please tell me someone's figured out what the hell the cause of all of this is. We have enough geniuses in this city that it shouldn't be too hard.
