Contact Thirty [ Video ] Afternoon.

Today, I was called in to my daughters' school for a parent and teacher conference. While I would like to say that this was a surprise, I have to say, I know that both Nana and Pino are very smart, and very hardworking. I saw no reason for them to call in a parent unless something had happened, and I was informed that every parent was called in to have a discussion with the teacher about how their child is progressing in the classroom.

[He would smile, but then, he's much more serious about this then anything else.]

It seems that the teachers were concerned about my daughter's speedy progress in class. They actually gave her a lower grade, because she didn't show her work on the paper. The answers were correct, and yet they saw fit to punish her because she had found a speedier way to give them what they wanted. I, as a parent, was outraged.

[That's putting it lightly. He made a little bit of a mess in the classroom.]

Here, they made me sit in one of those absurd desks made for children, and then went over how many times Pino had raised her hand, because she knew the answer, compared to the other children who did not know the answer. And then they told me that she doesn't use free time like the other children! They said she was strange, and she would copy someone else's painting. [He's getting a little angrier.] She's a child! And here they blame her for something that is not really her fault! [Breathe. Calm down.]

Thought of the day: Do not penalize the child because you are too ignorant to know that they are right.

[He pauses, taking the time to think of what he wants to say next.]

Aside from my comments on the current state of the Siren's Port school system, there are two other items on my list tonight. As you all know, we recently lost Yako Katsuragi from our midst. She was a good friend, and a hard worker, and she will be sorely missed. She was in charge of running the Newcomer Community Center, as well as scheduling all of the activities that took place there. Now that she's gone, we are without someone to maintain the community center. So, I would like to put a call out for everyone to step up to the plate, so to speak. If you think you could do a good job of making sure the center runs smoothly, I would be glad to look at your resume. Of course, whoever runs the center will also be granted access to the Newcomer Political Party and all it's meetings from here on out. We need your help. I don't want the center to close, just because we all decided not to do something about it.

[He looks saddened by that statement. It would be a shame to shut down the center because of no help.]

The other thing I'd like to mention is the Newcomer Business Convention that Mr. Chaolan has been setting up. I, as well as the rest of the Newcomer Political Party, think that this will be a great opportunity to bring to light other business in the area, and to help other Newcomers out there. The NPP will be backing the convention, and I hope that every Newcomer who currently runs a business, or knows of a business friendly and neutral to Newcomers, will participate in this event.

Thank you for your time.
