Good morning, everyone. If we haven't spoken before, my name is Meryl Stryfe, and I want to talk about something I think quite a few of you might be interested in.

It's true that not all the people who live in this city accept newcomers as their fellow citizens, but that doesn't mean we can't help each other. And one of the ways we can do that is the newcomer fund.

For example, if you're a recent arrival or you want to start your own business here in Siren's Port, the fund may be able to help you. There are certain procedures and paperwork to deal with, but nothing too onerous! And if you're doing well and want to help out your fellow newcomers, the fund also takes donations.

Mr. Raul Creed has asked me to start working with the fund on a trial basis, and to start out, I thought it would be best to talk to you all directly! I'd really like to hear from those of you who might make use of the fund, and those who already have, to get a good idea of what your experience was like and see where we can improve—and if you think you might want to apply to the fund and haven't yet, so we know where it's needed most.

Thank you all for listening. I'm really looking forward to working with you!

[Meryl looks rather irked when she makes a video appearance on the network today, though she's forcing a smile. She also seems to be holding a...is that an umbrella? Well, the forecast did say a slight chance of showers.]

Excuse me..everyone, I know many of you have been here much longer than I have, but I've put a lot of time into learning about how this city works, and all the strange things that happen here. And I know that most of the people here have some kind of 'special' power.

[Her smile begins to crack at this point.]

But I always thought the weather was usually normal! [At this point, she backs up a step or two to reveal a small localized rainstorm centered above her head. Looks like someone's power manifested.] Can anyone explain why it's only raining on me?

[Meryl looks considerably more composed this time around than she had toward the end of her first transmission to the network.

And sadder.]

Hello. I'm...I'm sorry, I still don't have the hang of talking to a whole city at once like this. We didn't have this kind of technology where I come from—the closest thing is my megaphone.

[She half-smiles for a moment, but it falls flat.]

I spoke to some of you before, but I didn't believe what people were telling me. I do now, though. It's very clear that this isn't some kind of trick. I've been trying to learn my way around. In some ways it's quite a bit more advanced; some of the technology this place has is very impressive.

[She sighs]

I'm sure this is a terrible time to talk about it, with so many people getting sick, but if anyone needs a hand with office duties, or paperwork, or anything like that, I've got experience and plenty of time on my hands. I've spent most of my career in the insurance business, but I've also spent a lot of time with outlaws and bounty hunters—if there's anyone who needs a hand, even just part time, please call me. My name is Meryl Stryfe.

[The video feed begins, showing a composed young woman who appears to be quite calm. She isn't looking straight into the camera but slightly off-center, as if she's never communicated through video before.]

Greetings, everyone. My name is Meryl Stryfe of the Bernardelli Insurance Company. I have a partner, Milly Thompson—she seems to have lost her way, so if anyone has seen her, could you please direct me to where I could find her? Thank you very much.

[She hesitates before going on with exaggerated politeness, though it's less and less effortlessly sincere.]

In the meantime, the guides here have been very helpful, but I think they may be a little confused. I'm sure I was in a very small town, and Siren's Port doesn't appear anywhere on my atlas--

[She pauses, then frowns and crosses her arms over her chest.]

All right, I admit it, I have no idea how I got here, but I certainly didn't travel an entire world away without a ship! That's something out of a kid's story. Whoever's responsible for this, I just want you to know that I will find you, and when I do, I am going to sue you..
