[The kid on the video doesn't look so hot. Not in an ate too much candy sort of way, either. He's pale and clammy and his lips aren't a healthy color. His eyes are dilated. He should probably be in bed. In fact, he probably is. But he's got something important to say first, judging by the serious expression on his face.]

Ah. I hope it doesn't ruin the holiday atmosphere, but I guess I should warn everyone. If someone gives you chocolates and you don't know them very well-

[He stops, curls up a bit. Ow, his freakin' insides...but before he can properly complain about those, he bumps something behind him. It turns out to be a plastic IV line, and when the cart falls over it tugs him hard enough to make him knock his head against a vacuum chamber, hanging around conveniently in case any patients in the area need their stomach pumped. Yosuke makes a frustrated, whiny sound.]

Ow! Ugh...anyway, please don't take candy from strangers. It might make you sick.

[Rue hesitates to start, but her voice is actually quite steady and strong. She needs to be strong, not just for herself but for Katniss and Prim.]

To anyone who was friends with Peeta Mellark, he went home a few days ago.

...How many wolves are in this city? Werewolves, I mean. Or people who turn into animals, in general. Especially during the full moon.

I'm thinking we might need to start getting organized. I mean, there's got to be more than a few of us, right? And some of you might need help gaining control. Plus, we don't want anyone getting hurt when they transform.

If the vampires can do it, so can we, right?

[A small pause.]

...Oh. And if anyone's good at finding things, could they let me know? I'm sort of trying to start up a company.

[The feed flickers on. Ashitaka appears in close up. For a moment he is quiet, lips pressed together in a thin, white line.]

[On second look, he appears to be breathing hard, as though keeping something in. A cut slashes across his cheek, seeping blood.]

[When he speaks at last, his voice is its normal quiet, measured thread, though there is an element of deep strain skimming just below the surface.]

I am . . . in need of some help.

[A wince, sharp, and he twitches, his head almost darting out of view of the feed.]

Not a healer. Someone who knows something of magic. And curses.

[A breath, and he reaches for the feed. His neck is briefly visible; lacing up the side of it is a network of angry purplish-black tendrils.]

Thank you. I apologize.

[Then the feed cuts entirely.]

First off, my condolences to those who were targeted in the recent hunts.

I'm sure by now everyone has heard about the hunting grounds being attacked. The fact that he's out of a property is good, of course, but that doesn't mean they can't build another area or find more hunters. I don't think it's time to let our guards down.

For one thing, I don't think it's a good idea to fight amongst ourselves, whether or not we agree with what was done to the grounds. I understand having a moral objection, but we do need to stand together somehow if we're going to change the system. I'm hoping the people here would choose cooperating with others they disagree with as an alternative to a knife in the back, at least.

On that note, my fiance - [he swings the NV over to show Katniss sitting across the room; she gives a forced smile to the camera before he shifts the focus back to himself] has agreed to give archery lessons in case the need for self defense presents itself again. I'm aware that this city is full of people with abilities, so I'm also aware that archery might not sound very useful to people who could probably instantly destroy a bundle of arrows with their minds.

[He chuckles lightly before moving on.]

But what I will say is that if a situation comes up again where they're using Voids, like they were in those hunts, a practical skill could become all the more important. And really, there's not much to lose in this case. I promise she won't bite. [A pause, and a grin.] Not very hard, at least.

[There's the sound of an angered retort from the other side of the room as he looks towards the source of the sound.] Sorry, sorry— [And the feed cuts.]

[Additionally, the victims of both hunts (whose names were announced ICly over the network somewhere) would have found an unsigned package with a small cake inside with 'get well soon' written with icing on top delivered to their home or hospital room.]

[With the second hunt and the worrying implications aside Rue almost held back from this... but having something else to focus on is actually a blessing.]

Does anyone know about the cave at Crow's Head beach...? I heard something lives in there.

I don't know if there's any customary procedure I'm supposed to follow after a Newcomer leaves, but from what I understand, it's more or less common here.

Anyways, that's not really the point. I just wanted to say that Rainbow Dash isn't here anymore. A friend, as well as my fiance and I had been living with her, but she hasn't come home lately. I tried to contact her, but the call wouldn't connect.

I'm sorry to anyone she might have been close to. I would have rather contacted you personally, but I didn't have a way to know who her friends are. I hope finding out this way isn't too troubling.

[And he cuts the feed.]

Oh hang on, you're in a tree, how awesome is that? You can hear some scrambling as the owner of this NV makes herself comfortable on the branch and then picks it up, the screen coming to focus on Rue's face.]

Hi everybody. [She sounds a little shy, but hey, she's not running away this time.]

I've been here, um... I think over a month now. That's a while, at least it seems to be to me. [Given the high risk she had of not living even another week before;;;]

I know I probably gave people a fright before, but I'm okay now. My name's Rue. I met a lot of kind people after I arrived who helped me out. I like it here, actually, even if it's not perfect. Like everyone's jumping on Newcomers about that missing girl...

But it's nice people are so worried about her, I hope she's found soon. [If at all. Rue's seen too many people lose their children, including her own family.]

I have a question, actually. Um, I promised someone I'd go to school here, so I want to do that.I think the schools here are different than home though, so where should I go?
