[The screen flickers on to show a young, blonde-haired woman peering into it. Her eyes are wide as she looks transfixed, almost mesmerized, by the device she's holding. She touches the screen, and something happens! Nina has never seen anything like that before.

Behind her, the sky is overcast, and the pitter-patter of light rain can be heard.]

Is this on?

[She seems to be talking mostly to herself, only to realize the device is on! With a startled little "ah!" noise, Nina jerks back, going stiff.]

Oh! Hello! I'm sorry. I've never seen anything like this before. But I should introduce myself, shouldn't I?

My name is [Hesitation. How does she identify herself here? She understands what's happening, but she doesn't know who else could be out there. But the pause doesn't last too long.] Nina Fortner. I've had everything explained to me, and I have to say, I don't like it! Taking people from their homes? Away from everyone they care about? That's not right at all! Not ever, but especially not when some of us have things we have to do back where we came from. "Where we came from"... the idea of other worlds is still weird to me. I don't think I can bring myself to believe this is real.

You know, I think do have a few questions, after all. If anyone could answer them, I'd be grateful. And...

[She seems like she's about to add more, but doesn't.]

No. That's all. Thank you very much.

This island? It gets way too hot.

[Oh look, it's a familiar face belonging to none other to Astrid. She seems disgruntled (which isn't surprising) but what is different is the state of her shoulders. They're clearly rather sun burnt, along with her nose that's also unfortunately red. She's wearing a spaghetti string tanktop and shorts as she sits on the floor of her and Hiccup's apartment, clearly unimpressed.]

I mean, I'm burnt. I've never been outright burnt by the sun before. Granted that's probably because on Berk it's snowing most of the year...but still-! This is just insane!

[She groans a bit, reaching up to scratch at one of her shoulders before wincing. Bad idea. That hurt.]

The only way I know how to protect from the sun is if I just cover up, but if I do that I'll just sweat to death. That's gross and uncomfortable. How does anyone put up with it? Or are you all just immune to the sun?

I never thought I'd be missing cold weather, but I'd really kill for some snow right about now.

Just checking- [A grinning teenager, wearing a headset around his neck, in the almost-empty Grant Stadium. Clean up crews are sweeping the seats and bleachers, the baseball field is being carefully groomed for the next practice. But Joe ignores the sweep-up, even kicks over a few stray crackerjack boxes, and he's glad to no longer be working in concessions! He's has the NV at arm's length, ] You guys all actually caught that on the news this morning, right?

Mr. Herms, the only neutral-supporter around with big munny to go throw around on his own idea of fun, is scouting newcomers for our own Away teams? Do you know what that means? We'd get to be the rival team of Portside! And then AGI and SERO's tired fans can keep selling off their season tickets and stay home, for all I care!

[In high spirits, he walks underneath a tower of speakers, pulls the headset back up lopsided onto one ear, unlocks a panel, and flicks a couple of switches. ]

Gee, I wonder who whispered in that guy's ear? [ A quick smirk at the NV, a flick of another switch- Joe clears his throat. "Testing Zone 3. Zone 3?" his voice booms over the speaker tower. Satisfied he flicks the headset back off.]

So somebody help me get some people together, and lets do this! Has anyone here ever played Soccer seriously before? That's the team they're looking to fill. I know there were a couple guys who said they played- but I haven't heard from them in awhile. Anybody else that could brush a bunch of us up on it fast?

It's just kicking a ball around, basically, right? And even if we're not pro-athletes, we can still play with other amateurs for the test-out games, right? We just need to play hard, and...put some interesting powers on the field, right? So, who's all in for kickin' boot camp!
