[ the feed turns on, showing an obviously bashful Nadeko on the feed. she's dressed in her nice work clothing. it looks like she's still at work.

ah, but something is different! yes, very different.

there are bits of confetti and multi-colored streamers in her hair, on her shoulders ... well, doesn't that seem a little out of place? ]

Today, it rained confetti.

[ she smiles a little. ]

T-Thank you, everybody ...

[ she means her co-workers and other people who were present when it happened. she then turns the feed off. she has to clean up and get back to work, but she felt that it needed to be said. ]

( ooc: Soooo I honestly don't know if Nadeko has a listed birthday anywhere, but the birthday I have headcanoned for her is on February 7th. She turned sixteen. c: We had discussed via plurk that her co-workers at Violet Systems threw a birthday luncheon, hence the confetti, and we were kinda debating on whether or not there would be a log for this (which I would still be totally up for if we wanted to backdate it!) ... either way, I wanted to get this up for her. :D )

It makes me happy that I was able to surprise you. How has your birthday gone so far?

... It rained confetti? [ That doesn't sound normal. ]

[ she's back a little later, mostly cleaned up ]

Was it for some special occasion?

[So you know that tall coworker, the one with the usually-somewhat-stern expression and the imposing sword? Keeps a lot to himself? Well, he discovered at Lee's last work "party" that Lee's definition of something "fun" is pretty much the opposite of his. Yeah. So he won't be attending the little lunchtime get-together for Nadeko, out of a desire to prevent embarrassment on the part of everyone.

However, when Nadeko returns to her desk, she'll find a sealed envelope bearing her name. Inside is a gift certificate to a Neutrally-affiliated restaurant not far from Violet Systems, along with the following note:]

[ awwwwwww .... she doesn't know Sephiroth very well (actually he kind of intimidates her a little bit, but she's still at that stage in working at VS where she's a little intimidated by everyone ever), but this is really unexpected and nice!

she'll have to find a way to thank him ... ]

[Of the employees at VS, the one who comes anywhere near close to knowing Sephiroth is probably Tim, and that's only through casual conversation, and that mostly while they're on the job. But his door is almost always (metaphorically) open, and Nadeko is welcome to poke her head in at any time.

Though really, if she goes out and enjoys herself, that will be thanks enough.]

[ back later, cleaned up from the confetti a bit. ]
