- Krampusnacht, An all-night annual spanking and flogging special event for naughty grown-ups at Afterglow XxX Club, has been cancelled after Monday’s attack and multiple security failures across the sector. The long-tongued december mascot ads have been removed throughout the city as XxX licks its wounds and tries to restore a steady clientele, but the club remains somber and business is stalled following the tragedy, without any announced plans to reschedule the popular and anticipated festivities.

-Xino E. Mao Adopts Children's Home

Residents of the House of Grendel, a children's home in a run-down portion of Sector 9, breathed a sign of relief today when the already greatly-in-debt facility was purchased by the Xino E. Mao Corporation -- an AGI affiliate which offers nightly protection services in addition to handling public relations for its parent company. The company has been provides funds for infrastructural projects in Sectors 9 and 10 for the last year, one of which is the new skating rink in Sector 9.

Xigbar, the CBO of the Xino E. Mao Corporation, had this to say to the press: "We believe very strongly in helping the less fortunate in this city. Children are the future; it must be preserved."

The home, which had been a non-profit entity for many years, pushed itself far into the red at the beginning of this year due to an increasing number of children in need of shelter and proper care. It's owner Sharon Wells filed for bankruptcy on Monday morning, only to be informed on Tuesday that the debt had been paid in full. She is expected to stay on and continue to work for the children.

[It's a bit early - maybe too early to be up if you haven't any pressing business for the day - and so Alois is still in his nightgown, cream-colored and lace-collared, sitting at a vanity with a cup of morning tea. It's still steaming. The bedroom around him is all in lavenders, and he's staring idly to the left of the camera at the flower-hued wallpaper. His cheek is in his hand, elbow on the dresser.]

When did you realize you'd never see home again? [he asks, and dips a spoon into his tea.] I mean, right, maybe we'll all go back, maybe something will happen, maybe maybe maybe, but while you're here, you'll never see it again. When did that hit you for real? When did it work its way through your teeth and tongue and up into your head? Or hasn't it yet...

[Clink, clink, goes his spoon.]

About a ten hour flight, and I could be there, you know. I looked it up and everything. I'm less than half a day away from my home, but people are touring it every day, walking through my gardens and all the things they rearranged in my rooms. Well, not every day. Wednesday through Sunday, eleven a.m. to four p.m. I looked it up on the website. They're even decorating for Christmas, though they're closed on the holiday...

[His face goes strange, a wrinkling of his nose and a tug of his lips. The spoon stills.] I can look at pictures, and look at everything they've done to it, but that's all, just pictures. I'm not even so far away, not really, but I can't ever go and see it. It was over a hundred years ago; it doesn't smell like me anymore, doesn't look like I lived there at all. Like it was never mine, just a bit of history, just like I wasn't actually there, no portraits or family crest, and doesn't that make sense, sort of? Because I'm here now.

—Comes with having a famous house, I suppose, but...

[Finally, he flicks his eyes up toward the camera, and reaches for it.]

They say, 'My home is my castle,' but where can we even hold court here? [The end.]

So... If there was someone special to you, really special, and you wanted to get them something just as special for Christmas, but you didn't really know what they would like, how would you think of something? I can't really ask, they'd just tell me to forget about it and not waste my money. I just want it to be perfect.

Oh, and I'm going shopping soon, so if you're my friend and you're listening to this, please tell me what you'd like!

[The video feed flicks on, revealing a somewhat tense looking young man. He's blonde, with snowy pale skin and purplish shadows under his dark eyes. If you're a possessor of heightened eyesight, you may notice that his neck and jawline is heavily ravaged by crescent shaped scars, disappearing into the v of his shirt.

He's sitting in what appears to be some sort of holding cell.]

My name is Jasper Hale. [His voice is clipped, with the barest hint of a Southern accent to it.] And firstly... I'd like to apologize if I had harmed anyone at my arrival. I acted on instinct, and that clearly wasn't the correct choice.

[His tone is wry, perhaps even bitter. He's silent for a few moments.]

I hear vampires aren't quite a secret around here, and I just can't help but wonder how well that's working out for everyone.

((ooc: Okay. So at Jasper's initial arrival he was a bit of a sour grape and tried to attack some people. Long story short he got voided and is currently chilling in jail.))
