Enclosed with these respective emails are marketing campaigns to holiday shop exclusively corporate-loyal this year. SERO included side-by-side comparisons between island-manufactured, state-of-the-art SERO electronics and inferior high end AGI imports with “outrageous” shipping costs and tagged-on surprise fees. Partnering with the very popular Zipz Technotainment Arcade, every SERO-affiliated purchase earns gaming credits, which can be loaded onto a giftcard or registered arcade account as the perfect gift for an avid or recreational gamer.
AGI has also issued and ‘Naughty or Nice’ list of corporate ‘supported and suggested’ stores to patronize this year. On the ‘Nice’ list are local Mom&Pop-managed specialty shops which have been “part of the Afterglow family for generations”, and the ‘Naughty’ list contains plenty of affiliate retailers where Adult Gifts may be found. As an additional shopping incentive, all credit card charges from Nice or Naughty listed stores will receive double reward points.
Consumer reports say that Port citizens are spending less on average this year than on holidays past. This may be linked to feelings of public uncertainty about the coming month. Attendance at religious services, which had hit an all time high during the “guilt flu” last March and then sharply plummeted, are beginning to rise again as doomsayers cry panic and repentance as we near “The End of Days”. There is an undercurrent of worry, especially with the upcoming Apocalypse Date of the Mayan Calendar approaching, that we may not make it to see 2013.
Still, as corporate leaders warn, being fiscally frugal will not help the Port’s economy. Spend and make merry...but most importantly, spend!

The children's cancer ward at Siren's Port General Hospital is completely empty today, as every child suddenly tested negative for their respective illnesses. Finding them to be in perfect health, all the children were released to their grateful families, and although they will all need to return for testing over the next week months to be sure they remain healthy, this is a happy day for many.
