-’Small Business Saturday’ Raises Tensions & Economic Worry as AGI and SERO CEOs Urge Workers to “Shop Loyal” and Keep Corporate Profits In The Black This Holiday

‘Personal’ seasons greetings and friendly consumer advisories, strong suggestions issued directly from the desk of both Judas Stone III & Italy De Drago, reminded company employees to be conscious of where they spend their hard earned wages in the final quarter. Both included apologetic warnings that hourly employees may find hours cut and salaried positions may not see New Years bonuses this year, unless the profit margins of this sales season take a significant turn for the better.

Enclosed with these respective emails are marketing campaigns to holiday shop exclusively corporate-loyal this year. SERO included side-by-side comparisons between island-manufactured, state-of-the-art SERO electronics and inferior high end AGI imports with “outrageous” shipping costs and tagged-on surprise fees. Partnering with the very popular Zipz Technotainment Arcade, every SERO-affiliated purchase earns gaming credits, which can be loaded onto a giftcard or registered arcade account as the perfect gift for an avid or recreational gamer.

AGI has also issued and ‘Naughty or Nice’ list of corporate ‘supported and suggested’ stores to patronize this year. On the ‘Nice’ list are local Mom&Pop-managed specialty shops which have been “part of the Afterglow family for generations”, and the ‘Naughty’ list contains plenty of affiliate retailers where Adult Gifts may be found. As an additional shopping incentive, all credit card charges from Nice or Naughty listed stores will receive double reward points.

Consumer reports say that Port citizens are spending less on average this year than on holidays past. This may be linked to feelings of public uncertainty about the coming month. Attendance at religious services, which had hit an all time high during the “guilt flu” last March and then sharply plummeted, are beginning to rise again as doomsayers cry panic and repentance as we near “The End of Days”. There is an undercurrent of worry, especially with the upcoming Apocalypse Date of the Mayan Calendar approaching, that we may not make it to see 2013.

Still, as corporate leaders warn, being fiscally frugal will not help the Port’s economy. Spend and make merry...but most importantly, spend!

-SP General's Children's Cancer Ward Empty After Miracle Healing
The children's cancer ward at Siren's Port General Hospital is completely empty today, as every child suddenly tested negative for their respective illnesses. Finding them to be in perfect health, all the children were released to their grateful families, and although they will all need to return for testing over the next week months to be sure they remain healthy, this is a happy day for many.

[ he frowns into the camera ] This doesn't make any sense. Why would you want to let a fat man carrying a bag of toys into your house in the middle of the night after the sirens have gone off? Wouldn't that just ruin the darkness protection on your house?

Oh, and why do you call it Christmas? Can't it just be a winter festival?

[ because other then the creepy fat man in red and the constant badgering to spend his money, Christmas didn't really sound like a bad holiday. He liked gifts! He liked giving gifts. He just didn't see why this Christ fellow had be dragged into it as well. Honestly, it almost sounded like something straight out of a horror book, or will be by the time Oz is through dissecting it. ]
