- - SERO Announces New "Loyalty" Policies
After nearly a week secluded in mourning for his murdered son, Malcolm Oberst, SERO's chief security officer, faced reporters at a press conference on Monday. Refusing to answer any questions about the investigation or his son's death, Oberst instead had a prepared statement in the form of a press release.
"In the past week, we at SERO have been carefully examining the structure and business practices of our company with regards to security. The safety of our customers and employees is extremely important to us, as is their continued loyalty and dedication to make SERO the great organization that it is. It is with this in mind that SERO would like to announce new policies with regards to our company security.
Over the past few weeks, all of our facilities and affiliated businesses have been subject to strict security in the aftermath of what was concluded to be an attack on SERO personnel. This security will continue in a slightly downgraded capacity as we implement the next phase of our new policies.
All employees of SERO, whether those working directly for the corporate offices or those working for affiliated or sponsored businesses, shall be issued new computerized identification cards. These cards will encode information about the employee. If an employee should run into trouble during the course of their duties, when activated with an emergency signal, the cards will permit tracking and assure prompt, timely responses to situations in the interest of preserving employee safety.
In addition, all employees shall undergo a loyalty screening, which shall conclude with all SERO employees signing an official decree of affiliation to SERO.
In the interest of safety, those employees who refuse to sign an affiliation agreement may be excused from their positions.
We are a team at SERO, and a team requires the full commitment of all its members in order to be successful.
- Malcolm Oberst
Chief Security Officer
SERO"
The press release asks that all questions be directed to SERO supervisors, though when we called for comment, the phone lines at SERO were completely overwhelmed.
