- SERO Security Chief's Son Found Dead
Last night, around 9:00 PM, the body of Ryan Oberst, 21, was found in his Sector 2 apartment mangled almost beyond identification. Police responded to an emergency call from the residence from five minutes before, where a panicked man's voice claimed that his darkness-proofing had failed and that a tremendous monster had broken into his apartment. Police caught a glimpse of the creature on its way out and believe that it may have been the same creature implicated in a recent series of attacks.

Police investigation of the apartment showed that the darkness-proofing had been sabotaged, leading many to believe that the attack was not an accident, but a premeditated act of murder.

The rumor has gained traction thanks to the identity of the victim: Ryan Oberst was the son of Malcolm Oberst, one of SERO's chief security officers. Oberst is one of the company's most powerful officials and is in charge of arranging security at most SERO-affiliated businesses and at the company's headquarters in Sector 2.

In the wake of his son's death, Oberst could not be reached for comment, but the tensions around SERO's offices are high, and all SERO headquarter buildings will be locked down on Tuesday. Only those showing official company identification or affiliation cards will be allowed inside, and the company's private security force is out in droves in Sector 2. There has been no word whether SERO-affiliated businesses will also be affected, but word is expected to come down from on high in the next day or so.

(ooc: This will affect your characters if they do any business with SERO-- NO non-affiliated or non-employees will be allowed into SERO's offices in Sector 2, and all of Sector 2 is now crawling with SERO guards... who may or may not behave like dicks towards characters they think are suspicious-- ie: those not affiliated with SERO.
