[With how much Chuck loves doing video post, the fact that he's sticking to voice should be the first red flag. The choked tone in his voice is another.]

Fred- Winifred Burkle. Has anyone seen her?

Her NV's offline, she isn't answering it.

[There's a long, sunken silence.]

I think... she's gone.

I want to say she'll probably be back, but I just don't know- I haven't seen it yet. God, what's the point of seeing the future if it doesn't help?

Anyway, I just- thought everyone who knows her should know. She's out.

[ For all that she's clearly calm, even smirking slightly, something about Lois' eyes indicates she is quite pissed. ]

It's been pointed out that no one outside the Newcomer's Network wants to admit the hunts happened.

Government and corporate cover-ups--where I come from, that's so old hat a whole job appeared just to annoy the crap out of the ones responsible. More importantly, that profession also tries damned hard to give voice to those who can't speak up.

This is what I do for a living, people.

I've gotten tossed off a building, kidnapped, shot at, you name it--and my boss may murder me one day for the lawsuits. It's a risk, I'll say that front and center. Speaking up and signing your name to it is hard, but that's what changes the world. Even if someone inevitably throws the first punch, ideas and words hold our higher ground. Whether it's petitions, demonstrations, public statements, or people in power being willing to step up--I know, I know, but it happens!--that's the fuel for the fire. And we have been, among ourselves--but outside? They want us to sit down and shut up. And not just about the hunts, either. We all know how things are with SERO and AGI.

I, for one, am sick and tired of obliging.

If you want to step up, if you want to take this to the front lines, talk to me. Personal stories, eyewitness accounts, stats on the legal or medical sides, or even just how we are mad as hell and can't take it anymore: it's time we get it out there and stop being afraid to say, "This is who we are, you don't get to use us for a whipping boy."

[ She takes a deep breath. This part hurts more: she's the only one left to push this part-- ]

And if you want to do more than just that, there is a platform for Newcomer News just waiting to be built. It's not just for writers or TV reporters: AV techies and designers, researchers, computer and equipment techs, experienced or looking to learn, we can use you. [ She rattles off an address. ] I can't promise good pay, but if you're signing on--or just looking to share your story--that's where I'll be.

They'll try to shut us down. Me, I'd like to see them try.

This is Lois Lane, investigative reporter, throwing down the gauntlet. Over and out.

Man. Just when I swore I'd never ever get involved with anything SERO ever puts out there that's gimmicky, and then...

"Thermographic Night Vision Contacts".  What are those, they help you see better in the dark, but without goggles or anything? Do they really work? For stuff like...monster tracking, like Darwin-work, you think that'd really help a lot? Be useful?

I'm not even allowed in the arcade, but maybe I could borrow Riku's ID and get in on a late-entry team, if they're still takin' em. Is anybody here any good at laser-tag?

For those of you who knew my nephew Zuko, he disappeared this morning. It was as if he vanished, not a trace of him anywhere.

[He had made an effort of looking]

I think that it will probably be for the best, he has much work to do back home.

[It is a bittersweet parting. He was glad to have family here, but he would rather Zuko be off fufilling his destiny]

[ Here is Marco again, but unlike his previous post when he was a smirking, shit-eating smartass, this time he's a little different. A little hard, a little rough, but still mostly the same. He's sitting in a chair, the cheap hotel kind. Looks like the boy still hasn't found a steady place to live in regularly, but he doesn't seem to be too bothered by it.

When he speaks, he lacks nearly all the swagger and a hundred times more of his acidic sarcasm. ]

Hello again.

I did had this whole speech about the attacks and all, but at the end of the day, I just don't care. It's too stupid for me to bother.

[ He moves his eyes upward, in a gesture of thoughtfulness. But his face shows nothing but a calm serenity, but it is the false serenity, the kind that brings about a terrible, despairing rage, the kind that only those who experienced it can recognize it for what it is. ]

I just want to say my mom, Eva, died. Some of you might know her as Edriss.

[ Another pause, as though he searched for words. His brows furrowed slightly, his eyes darken. ]

She was murdered by some crazy psycho redhead. I could call her a hot crazy psycho redhead, except she murdered my mom. That killed the sex appeal right there.

I already destroyed the body, since I heard about people becoming Darkness monsters after death.

[ Edriss was bad enough on her own. Marco is certain he can't handle seeing a monstrous version of Mom walking down the streets of Siren's Port after nightfall. ]

I'm going to make a small memorial tomorrow, nearby the Newcomer Tribute. Funny that when she died back home, there wasn't any body to bury her in, so there was only a memorial service and a really lame funeral. But I can always appreciate a good, twisted irony.

Those who know her, come. Those who don't, shove off.

[ With those words, he reached over and turned off the feed, so he can wait and see who has been making friends with a mass-murdering slave master. ]
