News
- Arson nearly shut down the Sector 3 branch of the 1st Bank of Siren's Port, spreading to several nearby buildings throughout the block. The fire did quite a bit of damage, but due to the quick timing of the growing imPort "hero" community, there are no casualties or civilian deaths.
The culprit as an unknown pyrokinetic in a red and yellow costume - SPPD has not released further details at this time, although eye-witnessed report that the vigilante Spider-man was also reported as being at the scene of the crime.
- SERO announced Wednesday that starting April 1st, it will be cutting coverage to its Plan C Insurance customers-- the more expensive policies on its plan. Plan C is designated to customers who are at-risk for various serious health problems or have existing problems preventing them from applying for the cheaper Plans A or B.
"Really, we're only cutting about 500 policies," said Natasha Hemsworth, PR representative for SERO's insurance branch. "These are the most costly plans that we sell, both in expense and in necessitated output of funds... mostly elderly customers who require a more thorough policy."
She emphasized that the company is not leaving these needy individuals without insurance-- all Plan C customers will be downgraded to Plan B.
"This is a heartless move," complained Esther Graham, one of the Plan C customers whose policy is being downgraded. "Plan C paid for my dialysis as well as for many of my prescriptions. Plan B does not cover the medication I take for my eyes, and will only pay for a fraction of my dialysis. How am I supposed to come up with the rest of that money?"
"This is simply 'trimming the fat'-- downgrading a small group of our neediest customers so that we can best utilize that money in providing for the majority," said Hemsworth. "And besides, it will save us some 5 million dollars quarterly in medical costs."
