Three things.

1: If anybody has experience dealing with the school system here, I'd love to talk to you. I'm trying to get started on enrolling a child for September, and any help or advice would be so appreciated. It's a real hassle.

2: Sam Winchester has left the island. I won't say he's gone, because he was gone a long time ago.

3: Does anybody have the power to turn a cat blue? Without dyes or hurting the cat, please.

[In a clearing somewhere in Sector 7, Terra kneels before a shrine of sorts. The 'shrine' consists of little more than a sword stand decorated with bits of metal and stained glass. In front of it, four tea light candles are set up in square glass holders. Three of the candles are lit. To the left of the candles is a dish filled with strawberries.

A wooden replica of a Keyblade lies across the stand itself.

On Terra's lap, lying parallel to the wooden blade, is his own Keyblade. Terra's busy cleaning his weapon with a strip of cloth.]

One of the instructors at the academy told me that everything happens for a reason. I've been thinking about that lately and I'm not sure I believe it. There's a lot of things in my life that I can't find any reason for, no matter how hard I look. But that instructor is a very wise man... He wouldn't just make things up. So I figure maybe it's true for some people and not for others. Maybe for some people, things just happen for no reason at all.

Maybe some people were brought to this world for a reason and others weren't. Maybe it's even a mistake that some people are here.

[Light flares somewhere off-camera: Terra did think to set up a defensive spell to try and shield himself from any of those daytime shadow monsters.]

Master Aqua has left the city again. I know she was working at a magic school. I'm sorry for the inconvenience her absence probably poses to her coworkers and students.

[He glances up then, trying to remember what else it was he'd meant to say... Oh, right.]

I hope everyone's getting a chance to honor their fathers today. [He nods absently.] It's a nice holiday.

I know that a lot is going on right now, but...

[Not only is Yosuke completely serious at the moment -actually, he seems to be contemplating being sick, in spite of the fact that the plague is over and done with- but he's also sitting tall and trying to look responsible while he addresses the network.]

On Tuesday, I went to ask Rain-san if I could have my job back now that...um. Now that I'm available for work again. I always worked Tuesday, and I thought-oh, shit!

[Sudden realization, and a side of slightly guilty face.]

Um, Winchester-san, I apologize for missing that meeting. It's just that I didn't know the bar would be closed.

[Swallow. He seems to get the queasy, fretting thing under wraps. Or at least, he remembers that he's on camera finally, and pastes on a Customer Service smile. If his teeth weren't a bit clenched and his face wasn't a little sweaty, you'd probably never guess anything was amiss.]

It's...the Cat's Eye will be open again soon, everyone. So don't worry. It's um. It's mine, now. That's what the papers say. E-except I don't think Rain-san thought it would happen this soon, because he never told me.

[Wait, is he rambling on the network? Crap. He really is. Yosuke clears his throat, and squares his shoulders.]

What I mean to say is, if anyone would like to help me get things started up again, that would be great. I'm-um. I'm not allowed to serve the liquor yet, actually, and...

[Sigh. And a silly, confused bob that was a bow in his head, really.]

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh hang on, you're in a tree, how awesome is that? You can hear some scrambling as the owner of this NV makes herself comfortable on the branch and then picks it up, the screen coming to focus on Rue's face.]

Hi everybody. [She sounds a little shy, but hey, she's not running away this time.]

I've been here, um... I think over a month now. That's a while, at least it seems to be to me. [Given the high risk she had of not living even another week before;;;]

I know I probably gave people a fright before, but I'm okay now. My name's Rue. I met a lot of kind people after I arrived who helped me out. I like it here, actually, even if it's not perfect. Like everyone's jumping on Newcomers about that missing girl...

But it's nice people are so worried about her, I hope she's found soon. [If at all. Rue's seen too many people lose their children, including her own family.]

I have a question, actually. Um, I promised someone I'd go to school here, so I want to do that.I think the schools here are different than home though, so where should I go?

Listen up, zombies. Now that we're no longer down with the sickness and we've got a full scale resurrection going on, I've got an announcement.

We chose a date. Friday, July 13th, Gabriel and I will be tying the sacrilegious knot. [A very big grin.] I'll be mailing out invitations this week and I need my entire Purgatory staff working this thing. If you're not there, you're fired. This is gonna be the most important day of my life, so your gift to me is not screwing it up.

On another note, I think some of my staff is dead dead. So, congratulations! Purgatory's hiring again. [Such a smooth and PC transition.] We're a cabaret nightclub looking for talent and servers. If I like you, you'll probably double as both.

Contact me if you're interested. For now, I'm gonna get back to wedding preparations.

Now that a cure has been found, I hope that all of the sick will be on their feet soon.

I was hoping there would be some kind of school here akin to Xavier's Institute, but I have yet to stumble upon one. In light of this, if someone could direct me to a local dojo, I would greatly appreciate it. And if there is no dojo, I will need space to build one.

[oh right.]

I'm a teacher of the martial arts and weapons combat. I suppose I should mention that I'm open for lessons right now, though they will have to be in a public space, preferably a park or field. If anyone is interested in learning, tell me now. Lessons start tomorrow.

I've been here almost a month now. It's still a little surprising. I definitely didn't expect to be welcome with the plague, but I guess that's just about my luck. [The small laugh is barely humorous, and he steals another glance at the girl.]

But for everyone who helped me when I first arrived, I'd like to thank you. The girl I was looking for is here now.

[ And the girl, not the prettiest in the world, seems rather content with where she is. She doesn't really smile, so much as her face is calm and no longer drawn and wrought with stress. Her head rests against the crook where his shoulder and chest meet, but she tilts it just so, to look at his face. Hello, everyone!

I hope you all feel better soon. Are you excited about the block party? I am. I want to cook for it! But I've never had any kind of party before, let alone this sort of street festival.

So I have questions! Are you going? How many days? What kind of food would you want to find there? Meals, or snacks, or both? What kinds of foods would be traditional? I understand someone else will be providing pastries, but I'm sure that still leaves plenty of niches to be filled.

Secondly, I don't just want to cook, I want to go! It sounds quite fun. As I am a building, this requires some creativity. I am currently constructing a vendor's stall featuring audiovisual transmission and display link-up, but I'm going to need people to help set up the hardware and so on. Ideally, I'd like volunteers for assembly, disassembly, and handling the manual aspects of the booth as necessary for all four days. Would full day or half day shifts be best? You'd be paid for your time, of course, and may help yourselves to free...whatever comestibles I end up providing. But I'm sure they'll be delicious.

[There's a little, yellow pony staring worriedly at everyone from over the PCD. She, at least, looks to be healthy as a, uh, horse.]

Um... oh, I'm so sorry to be bothering everypony at a time like this, but... If... If anypony needs any extra help, I'd be so, so very glad to help them out.

You see, I've um... I've been in contact with a few hue-manes so far, and I haven't gotten sick at all - and I'm so sorry for everypony who is sick, but... w-well, you see...

[She takes a deep breath] I've always helped my animal friends when they've gotten sick. I-I know how to care for fevers and upset tummies. So if... if anypony would like some extra help, or maybe an extra hoof in making some soup, please let me know.

[She ducks her head a little, nervously] I hope everypony gets better soon. This... this is terrible.

[And since she doesn't know how to do filters!]

O-oh and... Rainbow Dash...? If... If there's any way your home is still open... Would it be possible if I stayed with you?

Damn these human devices. What use has a god for such trivial objects?

[Not. Happy.]

I am Lenneth Valkyrie. I've been observing what people say, when I can manage to work this... thing. This world is nothing like the Midgard I left behind. Or any of the other realms I have walked through in the years that I was awake.

I have seen things fly in the sky that belong to no species of bird that I recognized. I feel I should be cautious when sharing the skies with them. What other things are there to be wary of in this city of metal?

[When the House was scared during the Time Loop, it was loud and demanding, but at least it was coherent. Not this time. During the time loop, the world was going wrong. But this time, the House itself is going wrong, and House doesn't. Go. Wrong. This time, it's chaos.]

Cut for length and disturbing imagery, including a brief description of sci-fi/medical torture and insanity-fueled self-harm behaviors. )

[Special Note to House Residents: Guess what, none of the fancy sci-fi swoosh doors in the House will open while House is freaking out. Any attempts to hack the doors open will get the message described above dumped onto the hacking device. The windows are pretty damn close to unbreakable, being reinforced diamond - your best bet is probably calling a friend who teleports. For the first time since arriving, breakfast is not provided promptly. Things like the lights still work fine on automated subroutine and respond to requests, but any attempts to talk to the House will receive a curt identical statement:]

The House is currently handling dimensional technical difficulties. Regular communication and services to resume at some point to be determined.

[After Loki removes the spell from the House, the doors will function again, and House will respond to any questions.]

[OOC: This message is definitely sent to Unohana, Lucifer (SPN), Mary Winchester, Iroh, Loki, and Magneto. It's not public to the whole network, since I didn't want to ruin everyone's lulz with crazy computer screams early in the morning, but House is not thinking clearly at all after having all its doors magically rearranged by Loki's prank, so if you want your character to randomly receive this wreck of message? Then they totally did. Hopefully Loki will fix the House quickly, so it shouldn't last too long.]

Whilst there are certain things that I have learned will always be a constant I still manage to be surprised when the event occurs.

What we care for should never be taken for granted, not with how quickly life changes or passes us by. [ She believes in that more so from seeing others lives pass when hers doesn't ]

"Make the most of what you have." It may seem like a ridiculous platitude but it's more true than we may wish to think it, or think on it.

[ She's slightly bitter, a lot sad but even more understanding. She knew that people left, she had once, but it had never happened to someone close to her. Until now. And as selfishly as she misses them she knows that it's better. It doesn't stop her feeling sorry for herself though ]

Take all opportunities that you can, cherish what you have and always remember; it may not be there again.

In three more days, it'll be two whole years since I've been pulled here.

[Joe Fieldman is sitting at the top of his apartment building's fire escape, facing the sunset. Ten minute siren warning has just ended, but there's still light left, and the blinking light of the radio tower is not too far off, backed by the skyline of downtown: the shining walls of SERO's ultra-modern skyscrapers glimmering sleek, and the top of AGI's corporate tower standing tallest as a dark spire against the sky beyond that, in the far distance.]

...That's really weird, how fast it's been. It feels like it wasn't so long ago, that I walked into my apartment in the Towers (All the way up on the top floor!) and found out the landlord had already put Riku there, figuring I was the same exact person who'd already lost the room key. 'Stupid newcomers', right?

Two years, and I should take time and look back on everything I've done with it. But that's not really so much as I'd like it to be.

I've made plenty of friends. And had good times with them. I found a name. I got stronger, and fought lots of monsters in the darkness- I've still got to run into about half of them that Darwin's got listed in the guide. Learned bike tricks from the guys at the skate park. Won a film contest, first place (okay, so Mr. Cohen did do most of it, but I was a good 'disciple'). Survived some earthquakes and riots and craziness. I learned a lot about wiring and sound tech and how to put on good music for a club. I joined and then quit a company.  Got a tattoo. Got permanently kicked out of SERO's crummy arcade. Fought some witches- which I heard saves the universe, but it doesn't make so much around here any better. Helped run that metal concert, which was a smash hit.

Still, that's hardly everything. And that's what's been bugging me the most. It's been a long time since I've really done anything important. Anything to change this place around, for the better. I mean, I protect my friends, but-

But some of my other friends have gotten killed, or gone away- or other bad stuff's happened to them. And there's not much I've figured out how to do, about changing that.

Does everyone who wants a better life to live in this city ever feel stuck this way? Like you have no clue what you could do next, to really make a difference?

Back in other worlds, some people who get pulled here are heroes...

I've been thinking- maybe it's really time I get serious and do something. But I don't know where to start, in a place like Siren's Port. How to do it. There are still days I feel like I don't even know who to be.

[HEY. Remember when Christina first got here and she was completely batshit insane and a few months later, she started evening out a little and acting semi-normal? Those were some good times.

Right now, she's sitting in front of her NV, looking coldly murderous. This is as angry as Christina's ever been since she destroyed Point Pleasant. Despite her fury, she's clearly been crying, but is trying to pretend she hasn't with teeth-gritted, wild-eyed fury.

Big, epic speeches aren't really a thing when you're shaking with rage, but Castiel already covered the murdering aspect, so she needs something else to get her disapproval across, but she still keeps it short and simple. Crowley may not have been overly compassionate, but he was genuine. Didn't lie to her, didn't spare her feelings, wasn't interested in her powers. Ambivalence in a sea of blind love and utter betrayal and hatred was a welcome alternative.]

A demon died the other night, but that's okay, because he wasn't a person, right?

If I find out that whoever killed him decided he needed to be put down because of what he is, then I'll show them what Hell really looks like. You'll find I'm not so easy to kill.

[Hello, Port. Today a certain redhead is sitting propped against a wall in a small building full of birds. Being friends with someone who has enough money to buy an entire aviary is pretty great. There are definitely at least three sitting on her as she begins to speak over the various noises.]

You know, I realized nobody had ever really seen inside here except me! But I like it a whole lot. It's really calming, and it's fun to take care of them all. Back home, I used to feed the birds that lived near the school, too, so it reminds me of my world a little bit. [As she talks, a pigeon comes down and sits on her head. Blinking, she looks up with a smile.]

I guess there are new people starting to come in now, too. I wonder if— [But then she pauses before looking quite panicked. She ducks down, and though the NV is pointed in the other direction now, there is the distinct sound of a bird hitting the glass wall of the aviary, as well as the muffled beginnings of a quack.

Recently, Blaine made a post about a movement from our home called It Gets Better. To reiterate, it's a way in our world for people to reach out to one another via the Internet to share experiences and assist in the prevention of suicide for LGBT youths. I'm pleased to inform you all that he and I are establishing a similar program here in the Port, hereby named the Out of the Darkness Project.

[He presses his lips together for a moment.] If anyone would like to share their experiences with finding light in dark times--whether here or at home, and for any audience, LGBT or otherwise--please send your videos, texts, and audio posts to me or Blaine Anderson. One of us will broadcast it for you. Hopefully this increased communication between Newcomers will assist with the day-to-day tribulations of living in the Port.

That said, I... [A deep breath.] I'd like to add something else to this. I've been considering creating a support group of sorts for those who have lost people here in the Port, to the Darkness or otherwise. I'm not a therapist by any means, but just to have a group of people with similar experiences to confide in... I think it would be beneficial for a lot of us. I was thinking the Newcomer Memorial might be a nice place to hold meetings. If anyone is interested or has any suggestions, feel free to let me know.

[Pause.]

The Darkness is... It's a lot of things. I'm aware of its origin, literally, but... I sort of think of it as the opposite of It Gets Better. It's everything in the world that no one can escape, those evil things that happen to good people, the absence of light and hope. It can't ever go away, but we can choose to live above it. So please, if you can...consider making a video to contribute to our project. We all have our differences, but when you break it down, we are all in this mess together. Let's start acting like it.

Thank you for your time.

Greetings, Siren's Port.

I am seeking a mobile, carbon-based volunteer to assist my participation in our city's Homebaked Bread Society. Cooking expertise not required.

Your duties would be:
- to visit me at [the House's address, on the beach where Sectors 4, 7, and the sea intersect], pick up an insulated container of fresh bread, and deliver it to the Society's meetings.
- to serve my bread to the rest of the society with charm and poise
- to taste the bread brought by other members and offer polite feedback as appropriate
- to send me a summary of the discussion (or record it to your NV if you prefer)
- to acquire the recipes of any other loaves of bread you particularly enjoyed, with commentary on what you found delicious

In exchange I will provide:
- freshly baked bread, including extra that you are not required to share with the Society
- homemade jam of your preference
- further compensation negotiable

Serious inquiries only, please. Comfort with talking machines preferred.
