- Siren’s Port subway passengers are thrilled, but transit personnel are not, after an unknown group of prankster vandals have defaced signs and route charts inside subway trains with humorous stickers. One train had the names of stops on its route chart changed to juvenile jokes, like relabeling Ravenwood to “Morningwood” and writing “tee hee” next to Doublewood. Another sports new and confusing route charts featuring spiral lines and designs all over the map, with made-up destinations like “Here,” “There” and “Everywhere.” Yet another shows a large, toothy monster with its mouth open, consuming the people in the safety signs.
“It’s not funny,” complains transit security guard Marge McCoy. “I’m sure the passengers are all getting a laugh out of it, but somebody had to pay the guy who has to clean all this up. Vandalism is vandalism.”
Still, the subway pranksters could be having some positive impact as well. Security reports a 10% drop in violent crime on the subway lines since the stickers first started appearing.
-The mysterious plague of overheated ovens has continued today, with the same batch of AGI-run bakeries once again suffering along with several SERO-owned establishments. The moment of overheating was logged to be at exactly 8:23am, well into most bakeries primary baking times. Only the few establishments that keep overnight bakers employed and locked in during the darkness - and some neutral bakeries - seemed unaffected. Though wild rumors are circulating about some kind of Newcomer conspiracy against AGI and SERO businesses, the SPPD has reported no leads. A person with heat manipulation or fire-based abilities or spells is suspected, but motives are yet unknown.
- Siren's Port Preternatural Jewelry & Loans is now hiring in management, appraisal and security positions to gear up for the upcoming holiday season. Must have supernatural or magical ability and experience handling magical artifacts such as spell tomes and suspicious mirrors, as well as a hardworking, honest personality. No sneak-thieves. Our store owner is clairvoyant and no matter how high your charm or dexterity, you will not get away with stealing, so no funny business.
Newcomer applicants who reach the second interview stage but are unable to provide a background check will submit to testing for black magic, vampirism, and an aura reading. All applicants must agree to an interview with the store owner.
PLEASE NOTE: Siren's Port Preternatural Jewelry & Loans has gained some notoriety lately due to the popular reality program `Psychic Pawn Stars`, detailing the exploits of the store owner, Sassy Lace, and her children, Vermilion and Gage, and the interesting items that customers attempt to pawn or sell. While the show does adequately portray one small portion of life at Siren's Port Preternatural Jewelry & Loans, rest assured that ice nymphs do not typically rampage around the store because we would not let them cut in line to buy back a TV, etc.
Do not apply this job expecting to become a reality TV star. The Laces have a strict contract with AGI and don't like sharing the spotlight
