- Fungal Infection Takes Woman's Life

Twenty-three year-old Gwen Barnes was rushed to the Emergency Room at Skye Medical shortly after siren's last night when her father reported an abrupt changes in behavior as well as odd growths beginning to sprout from her forehead. Diagnosed with a rare, yet virulent strain of fungal infection associated with darkness-festered mold, she died within the hour.

When asked how such a thing might have occurred, her father Michael Barnes stated that their apartment complex has been subject to many darkness breaches over the years and that conditions aren't the cleanest.

There will be a viewing on Tuesday, August 14, and a funeral the next day. Friends and well-wishers are encouraged to come.

Hi everyone! I've got big news! Xellos and I are opening up a magic shop called the Seyrunn Shop of Sorcery. The grand opening is this weekend, so come and check it out!

[He holds up a map with a star marking a location in sector four.]

We're hiring. Sales staff should know about magic. Cashiers don't have to, though.

[Lowering the map, he pauses and remembers something.]

Oh, and we need two boy athletes and two girl athletes for a short term contract. We're introducing a new sport to Siren's Port called Brass Rackets and we need people to demonstrate the sport on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You'll be paid for your time and you'll each get a set of two magic rackets.

[He smiles. The Brass Rackets events should get a lot of attention.]

Make sure you find the time to come out on at least one of the three days, everyone. You won't want to miss it.

[Anders has a wide and almost conspiratory grin on his face as the camera clicks on. It's far too easy to guess that he must be up to something, especially as he grabs his NV and gives everyone watching a nice look around the apartment, now with all the furniture put together and a couple of bottles of alcohol (at least one 'borrowed' from Fenris) on the table.]

So! It seems to me that what with some of the things going on, some of us could do with something to try and take our minds off of everything, at least for a little while, yes? And what better way to do that then a friendly game of cards!

[Almost too nonchalantly he continues.] I don't know how many of you are familiar with Wicked Grace, but it's fairly easy to pick up, especially if you have something to play for, like, for example, coin or clothes...?


Not to mention some drinks to keep everything flowing nicely. [There's that grin again.] So, who's interested in getting a little game together, hmm? See what kind of fun we can get up to. We've space here for a decent enough group, I think, and people are encouraged to bring a bit more to drink as well.

And I'm certain my roommates won't mind the idea either! [Because what is asking ahead of time?]

[ This isn't the kind of post he usually makes. Still, he has feelings about what's been happening lately and wants to address them.

Hey, everyone.

I know most of you...probably don't know me, but- I've been thinking a lot lately about the things we've been hearing in the news. A lot of it isn't good, and a lot of it can be downright discouraging.

I'd just like to know- is there something good that's happened here to you that couldn't have happened anywhere else? Whether it was someone you met, or something you did, or...anything.

I know it's hard here, but...even when the bad outweighs the good, I think it's the good we should focus on.

[ An awkward pause. ]
