Community Cleanup Efforts in Sector 4 Continue Today, City Still Tallying DamagesMost of today’s headlining news concerns the aftermath of the phenomenal attack of a creature from another dimension. Hospitals have admitted over 75 injured persons, and most of them have confirmed that they did see a large red monster and strange technicolor hallucinations.
Other running theories for the disaster still include fluctuations in Core activity, an alien life force released from a pod in an underwater sea vent, or a respawned spore cloud of the hallucinogenic puffball mushroom fungus which was reportedly eradicated from the Port as of last October.
Governor Townshed, as usual, made public statement on the gloomy affairs of repairing infrastructure, estimating damage totals which will definitely see tax hikes in the coming year. The price of locally raised beef and some summer vegetables can be expected to double. The water treatment plant is first on the list of things to get back up and running, then transportation systems. Port residents can expect the return of desalinated tap water within 48 hours. Until then, the city recommends staying hydrated with bottled drinking water.
Volunteer crews, particularly those with heavy lifting or construction-related powers, are wanted for community cleanup and will be meeting at the site of the wrecked depot at Last Stop (Station 31) at 9am to divide into labor teams. The Dog’s Breakfast Pub is offering free cold draft beer and a dozen chicken wings to anyone who participates in helping clear debris from the streets from 9 to 5. Must bring name tag from the clean-up site.
