- Little Violet Whelan is still missing! Her mother appears for an official statement with the evening news, in half-sobbing, angry hysterics, accusing Newcomers of kidnapping and brainwashing her baby, pleading with Port natives to help her find the monsters who have stolen her.

She received a typed ransom note at her home this morning, which seems to mock her outlandish accusations, demanding a ludicrously low $500 donation to the Newcomer’s Fund, a public apology and a renouncement of M.A.N.’s hate speech before her daughter will be safely returned. Included with the note is a childlike crayon drawing, signed by Violet, which depicts an unhappy girl sitting between two fighting parents. Police have collected the note as evidence.

SPPD’s missing child hotline number scrolls along the bottom of all NVs and news programs are frequently interrupted to flash Violet’s school picture across the screen, asking anyone with information on Violet’s whereabouts to contact police.


- McKinley Zoo & Aquarium is looking for enthusiastic and kid-friendly seasonal workers to be Summer Day Camp Counselors, providing educational activities crafts, games and animal handling demonstrations for elementary school children. Interviews and hiring will be carried out between today and friday, with training beginning next monday. Camp runs in weeklong Mon-Friday sessions, throughout July and August. Pay is minimum, but this is an excellent opportunity for high school and college aged kids who need a fun summer job.

I've been here, um... I think over a month now. That's a while, at least it seems to be to me. [Given the high risk she had of not living even another week before;;;]

I know I probably gave people a fright before, but I'm okay now. My name's Rue. I met a lot of kind people after I arrived who helped me out. I like it here, actually, even if it's not perfect. Like everyone's jumping on Newcomers about that missing girl...

But it's nice people are so worried about her, I hope she's found soon. [If at all. Rue's seen too many people lose their children, including her own family.]

I have a question, actually. Um, I promised someone I'd go to school here, so I want to do that.I think the schools here are different than home though, so where should I go?
