[ Lying across a hardwood floor is a robotic arm. It's sleek and shiny and looks well designed. Unfortunately for all its fancy looking gadgetry it's lying there like a dead fish. A socked foot pokes into the view of the camera from the bottom of the screen and nudges the arm. Once.... Twice...

And oh! Look at that, the fingers on the arm are twitching in strange, jerky motions.
]

Aha! Got it working. [ A scoffing sound. ] That wasn't that hard at all.

[ And now in those same weirdly jerky motions the arm lurches towards the foot and grabs onto the ankle attached. The camera pans down to watch its movements ]

Hey!

[ And starts climbing it's way up the calf. ]

Oh my god...

[ And gets up to the shorts, and seems to be moving on up. ]

HOLY SHIT! STOP THAT!!!

[ Well... it does only to start sparking like crazy. There's a yelp and arm is flung off the lap and goes flying into a wall before falling to the ground with a loud clatter. ]

.... Well so much for getting that to work right!

[ For Irene, her presence on the network has been spotty lately. And for her that meant business. But she realizes her last broadcast was her arrival, which would have to change. It was about time she made her video debut. She's also bored at the moment. It's just fun to keep people guessing.

She appears relaxed as she looks into her camera phone, lips freshly painted red and hair up in its distinctively complicated coif. The lace around her shoulders suggests something much more casual though. ]

Ooh, quite a lot of repressed emotions these days. Are we all done committing our deadliest sins already? Definitely made things interesting. [ yes, she's well aware that is old news, but it doesn't make it any less true; it was very revealing, in fact. ] Or was everyone busy on Monday?

[ an amused raise of both eyebrows. at least this will tell her how many people pay attention to the news -- something she's interested in knowing. ]

Nevermind that. Look at these new faces. I'm sorry that I haven't been able to say hello. My hands have been full. [ a smirk. ] How are we all doing? I'm fine for those wanting to ask.

[As a high-ranking angel, Zachariah has to put in real effort to look this boring. Bald, just a little portly, in a well-tailored but subdued business suit, on a park bench. The view is at an angle as he looks out toward the city, the NV in his hand, elbow propped on one knee. He grins a little ruefully.]

Somebody tell me there's a decent bar in this cesspool.

-The Siren’s Port Historical Society is scrambling for damage control after a series of unfortunate disasters plagued the opening reception of the Wakerose Manor Museum on Sunday. Guests to the reception were repeatedly locked out of various areas of the party as doors slammed closed and jammed their locks. A chandelier fell in the dining room, feet away from where a commemorative toast was being performed. And twelve attendees were hospitalized with food poisoning after a circuit board malfunctioned in the kitchen, leaving plates of food to spoil overnight before the gala. The malfunction was not discovered until after many guests began to complain of feeling ill.

“We would like to apologize to any who were inconvenienced by the events at the reception,” said Susan Martin, president of the Society. “We will be compensating those who were sickened by the food, and all who were in attendance will be receiving a season pass and guest vouchers to the museum as an apology.”

The old mansion on the coast in western Sector 5 had been abandoned for nearly 50 years before the SPHS restored the interior and converted it into a museum. It was reportedly, the site of the tragedy of Willow Blakely, an heiress whose fateful love affair with the pirate Redblade is one of the Port’s most infamous legends. Blakely is rumored to have thrown herself from the cliffs outside the house in despair after hearing of her lover’s capture by authorities.

The troubles have many Port paranormal aficionados whispering about the possibility that the mansion may be haunted, but Martin refuses to acknowledge those rumors. “It was just a series of accidents,” she said. “The very idea that this house could be plagued with ghosts is... completely ridiculous. I urge everyone to come visit and see for themselves that the museum is a beautiful representation of historical fact-- not wild paranormal fiction.”

[She's been here a few days. Castiel knows she's here. That girl who had helped her to the dugout and given her a little bit of help knew she was here, but had no idea who she was.

That didn't help.

She's got a bruise along her jaw and a scrape on her right cheek. And she's got a shot glass in her hand. There's a distinctive bottle close by, but she's not drinking it. It's too early for that. No matter how much she might want to.

Also, she knows her boys are here.]

I got the welcoming committee talk. Don't want to hear the rest of it.

[She rolls the shot glass along the table.]

I know there are folks from my world here. Appreciate it if they'd speak up.

[Another roll of the shot glass.]

If anyone's looking for a bartender, I ran my own saloon back in Nebraska and don't mind knocking heads together no matter how much more testosterone than brains they've got.

[And if you boys don't contact her, she will come find you. You really don't want that, do you?]

[The camera focuses on five little patchwork mice in a cage. It remains focused on them as Stein tries to pick up a little extra cash.]

Pet mice for sale to a good home. Friendly, healthy, and neutered. Five dollars each.

[Well, would you look at that, people of Siren's Port. Looks like Lucifer has gone out and decided to talk to you all. It has to be the devil, I mean, he looks exactly like him, right down to those bright blue eyes that just stare at the screen for a while, as if he can somehow see the people on the other side of the NV.]

How interesting.

[He smiles, slightly, but this isn't a smile that is full of condescension towards the people he's addressing. It's...calm. And even amiable, in a way.]

So many people in one place, so many stories, so many tragedies and hopes colliding with one another. And so many flaws. But this is to be expected. Everyone is flawed...

[Okay, really, if this is really Lucifer, he's acting a bit too...interested. Too serene. Even though his stance and words might seem very similar to words that the devil might say, there's something off. ]

[A pause, and then he nods, tilting his head ever so gently in curiosity.]

Tell me, people of Siren's Port. Why do you think you have been brought here? Are you serving a purpose for this Core, or do you think you're merely a fluke, a random choice made that took you from your home and placed you here?

...Is it your fate that led you right to this very city? Or do you believe that the wheels of fate do not turn for you at all?

[ooc: Once again, please please please fill out Jacob's permission form if you could about his god-like powers and how they apply to your character and such. I'd hate to step on anyone's toes while tagging around, so thank you muchly!]

[hello, Port. on screen is a man who could pass for eighteen, but has that 'look' of someone far older. he could probably also give a few models envy in terms of his 'look', period.

he also seems mildly annoyed.

While being told that there are monsters that roam in the dark is alarming, being told that it is 2012 is even more so.

I would like a better explanation than the one I was given.

[ The video begins as terribly shaky, half of it covered by a curious shape that will, upon closer inspection, turn out to be somebody’s finger, followed by some clicking noises. Of course, what Hashirama is trying to do right now is use his NV – conveniently shaped like a pen – to write. ]

Tch. What good is a pen if it doesn’t write…

[ A few more clicks and the device rolls off, a view of the table taking over for a few moments, switching to a view of the ceiling, then the wall, back to the table, and this continues for a few moments. This is then followed by a loud crash, the feed still shaky as it finally focuses on a man, standing with his legs slightly apart, expression set in a slight frown, hands positioned like he is just about to pull a karate move of sorts. ]

I didn’t think you were the ordinary sort of pen. Then again, why would I be handed a pen in the afterlife...?

[ He is still inspecting that NV, gaze sweeping carefully over the device, unfamiliar with it because during his time there had been nothing so advanced in technology as what he was staring at right now. ]

…Or are you an exploding device?

[ He takes a step back, his hands forming a seal of sorts as he waits for the device to explode. He will be standing there in that position, suspicious as ever, until something happens. Or until someone decides to communicate. Whichever happens first. ]

[The feed turns on way, way too close to someone's face as they fiddle with their NV. It shakes around for a moment before a voice calls out.]

Oh-! It's on.

[When it finally gets pulled a little farther away from the owner, a girl's face comes into view, sitting outside a local McDonald's.]

Um, I'm sorry! It's been a long time since I've used a cell phone.

[She shakes her head and gives the camera a smile, fidgeting with her hands nervously.]

My name is Madoka Kaname. Can anyone tell me more about that Core thing? Or the Darkness? It's a little scary, but... it's something I think I need to know about.

Oh, and... It's kind of a long shot, but, um, I'm looking for some friends. If you're here, could you let me know?

Ah, thank you your help!

[She bows slightly to the camera from where she's sitting and shut the feed off.]
