- Dr. Edward Campbell was killed last night at St. Teresa's Sanitarium. According to reports, he was in charge of the Joker."There has been growing concern for the Joker over the last two week, as his mental state seems to be slipping," says Dr.Bonhomme. "His doctors claim that he's been standing in the middle of his cell, facing the wall, and not sleeping or eating. After days of monitoring his behavior and seeing that he hadn't moved, Dr. Campbell went to check on him and Joker immediately snapped his neck. Security couldn't move fast enough to stop it ...Campbell was a good man, we'll miss him."
Campbell leaves behind a wife and two daughters who have arranged a wake and memorial service on Saturday. The Joker has been moved to a more high security cell but so far there are no signs of change in his behavior.
- In celebration of World Intellectual Property Day, a collective of SPU law students are protesting at Hillsdale and Hawthorne campuses today, raising awareness for the limited intellectual property rights of AGI and SERO affiliated students. The protesters are urging students at both universities to take a stand against the fine print that’s robbing them of compensation for their creative due.
“Did you know that undergrad or graduate students who discovers or invents a leading scientific advancement while a student at Hillsdale cannot apply for a private patent?” Wendy Whitman, Junior and rallying organizer of the protest, told reporters in front of her dormitory this morning. “That students who write an award winning play or write a published novella for their classwork at Hawthorne are automatically putting their work under the University’s corporate copyright? These universities are charging tuition for their student bodies to act as their unpaid think tanks.Students are unwittingly signing away a small fortune in brilliant ideas to the companies every semester!”
[ooc: Feel like joining the rally? These protesters will be brutalized by corporate campus security and subsequently arrested for trespassing on school property and disturbing the peace in an ‘intellectual environment’. Passersby on either campus may get caught in the crossfire of conflict too.]
- FOR SALE, CHEAP: A bracelet with a strange charm, a gift from my grandfather, a notorious prankster. He said the bracelet is a cure for hiccups that he found on the black market, but I'm not sure. Anyway, it's quite pretty and could be worth something. It might also give you the hiccups forever, knowing my grandfather. I don't wear jewelry, so really it's of no use to me. You can also see me for a necklace with a fish charm that definitely makes you smell like tuna salad, and an old couch that farts when you sit on it. Please contact XARON for more details.
