So, does it snow like that here often? 'Cause, I mean, if it does, then I guess I could be a little better prepared, you know? Warm clothes and stuff. Probably could stock up on food too. [That last bit is sort of mumbled to himself]

Speaking of clothes and food and stuff -- plus, I don't wanna be a freeloader too much longer -- I think it's probably time I got a job or something. This is probably gonna sound stupid to some people, but I'm not even sure where to start looking. I mean, I'm not even really sure what I'm good at, as far as job skills and things go. Well, I know what I'm good at and everything, I'm just not really sure how it would apply or anything.

[He lays the NV on his bed next to him, so it's just pointed up toward the ceiling now. It's not a bad ceiling. Finn's spent a lot of time looking at it]

I feel sorta useless and changing that would be kinda nice.

I'm in the kitchen.

[It's time to stop feeling so alone in his... temporary home. He just leaves the NV where it is on his bed and heads for the kitchen] We don't really run into each other much here, do we?

No I guess not -

[ it's not that she's been avoiding him and trying to deal with this whole back-together-and-another-break-up thing. ]

What's up?

[He's been doing some avoiding, himself. Only, you know, avoiding Siren's Port as a whole]

I just wanted to see how you were doing and I thought it was kinda dumb to do it over the NV thing when we're both here, you know?

I'm fine -

[ she works on a smile, it comes out semi convincing. ]

A little overwhelmed.

[Yet Finn sort of believes it. Maybe]

Yeah, this place is pretty messed up, isn't it?

-- Seriously messed up.

[ she gestures for him to sit down. ]

[Warily, Finn steps into the kitchen and takes a seat. They might have sort of made up since he told her about their short-lived relationship, but things still feel so... tense?

He scrubs his face with his hands and shakes his head, sighing heavily. The Port might finally be getting to him a little]

I think the more I hear, the less I wanna know.

Makes sense.

[ she tries for a smile. ]

How did getting a job go?

I have to talk to an archangel about being a bouncer [Or waiter. But can you really see Finn being good at waiting tables?] at his cabaret club.

[He gives Quinn a weak smile]

How screwed up does that sound?

What is it with this place and fake angels?

You mean this isn't your first time hearing about angels here?

[It's certainly his]

Some crazy person girl was going on and on about having a feather from an angel's wing.

Well, why couldn't it be from a real angel or something? Why does it have to be a crazy girl with a feather from a fake angel?

[His main concern lies with Quinn calling someone she obviously doesn't even know, crazy]

Because angels can't get stuck here, Finn, because they're angels and we're not even allowed to talk like this, it's blasphemous.

And dragons aren't even real, yet there are dragons here. And-- and space cotton candy. [Do you have any idea how hard it is to stay serious while talking about that weird pink... blob thing?]

Pretty sure the rules are a little different here, Quinn.

No!

[ She tries to snap but her voice breaks and she's annoyed with herself. This is the second time Finn sees her crying in the course of less than two weeks. ]

I pray to them, every minute, to get us out of here. All of us. If they're stuck here it means they can't help. So they're not here, they're not.

[Finn's eyes simply drop to the floor and he clenches his jaw so tightly it hurts. It's all to keep himself from arguing with her more. She has to know it's true, though, that he's right about this]

Maybe they're not actually stuck here like we are or something.

Finn -

[ by now her voice is pleading. ]

Just - they aren't here.

[Finn looks up at Quinn again. He wants to tell her that maybe the angels are there to help them already, but doesn't that get proven as a lie since they're... not being helped?]

Quinn, look-- [He pauses. He can't do that to her. He stands up and moves closer to her, just wrapping his arms around her shoulders. He doesn't say anything though. He's not going to take back what he said. He's sure they'd both know that, at the very least, he'd think he was lying]

[ She smiles up gratefully at him. He's right, she knows. Maybe in a few week she could admit it to herself and to him. ]

If you don't stop growing taller I'll never be able to hug you again.

[Finn straightens and smiles almost sheepishly down at Quinn, his arms still loosely around her shoulders]

It's kinda actually harder to stop than you might think.

What do eat to get this tall?

I don't know. [He laughs] I just eat what my mom makes for me.

Her food really is good.
