So, does it snow like that here often? 'Cause, I mean, if it does, then I guess I could be a little better prepared, you know? Warm clothes and stuff. Probably could stock up on food too. [That last bit is sort of mumbled to himself]

Speaking of clothes and food and stuff -- plus, I don't wanna be a freeloader too much longer -- I think it's probably time I got a job or something. This is probably gonna sound stupid to some people, but I'm not even sure where to start looking. I mean, I'm not even really sure what I'm good at, as far as job skills and things go. Well, I know what I'm good at and everything, I'm just not really sure how it would apply or anything.

[He lays the NV on his bed next to him, so it's just pointed up toward the ceiling now. It's not a bad ceiling. Finn's spent a lot of time looking at it]

I feel sorta useless and changing that would be kinda nice.

[ She nods in acceptance, it's behind them now. ]

Can I tell you a secret?

Uh yeah. Of course. You can tell me anything, Quinn. [Should he be concerned? He feels like he should be concerned]

[ She is silent for a few minutes before reaching into the bag she had on her when she arrived. She pulls out her wallet, and from it hands him a picture ]

I miss her. Every day. I'm not supposed to but - she was really pretty, you know? She was....she was the prettiest thing I've ever done.

[Warily, Finn takes the picture and looks down at it. He remembers that day well, from telling Rachel that he loved her to that waiting room. He never did see Beth, though. He probably should have, but he couldn't.

He manages a small smile as he studies the picture, not bothering to look up from it before he starts speaking] She's perfect and... and she looks just like you. And, um-- [He pauses, trying to swallow past the lump in his throat] I can see a lot of Puck in her too.

She's prettier than me.

[ Her gaze turns to her hands. ]

I know I did the right thing. I just...it hurts, you know. I mean, how can it be right and still hurt?

[He shakes his head. It's not about him and how bad that picture makes him feel] That's not true. You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, Quinn.

[Finn wraps his arms around her shoulders again, leaning down to pres a light kiss to her forehead] Whether it was the right thing or not, you gave up your baby. I don't think that would ever be easy.

[ She smiles up at him, returning his hug, beaming at the compliment. ]

I'm glad we can be friends now.

[Girlfriend or not, he'll probably always think that about Quinn. Taking just one arm from her (he always did like that Quinn was just tall enough for him keep his arm around her comfortably) and hands her the photo back]

Me too. It seems like we kinda stop being friends when we're not together at home, you know?

With that in mind, can I tell you a secret? You just... Promise not to get mad at me for it first.

[ Staring at the picture for a few long moments, she smiles; a small, knowing smile. ]

Is it about Rachel?

[He's silent, despite her question, as he watched Quinn and the way she looks at that photo. It's like her entire demeanor changes when she looks at it]

Well, this one isn't. [There's another that is, but he's still trying to build up to that one]

[ She presses a finger to the picture before looking up at him again. ]

Tell me.

[He opens his mouth to start, shakes his head, decides to go in a completely different direction. Different secret]

Um, do you think it's at all stupid to treat this place like, I don't know, some kind of trial run for the real world, for when we get back home?

I don't think it's stupid -- except the real world doesn't include monsters, so maybe it's even smart. You know, home looks like a piece of cake.

It does kinda look like a piece of cake now, doesn't it? I almost miss getting cornered in the locker room and harassed by the other guys on the football team, you know?

And the shoes that were thrown at us when we did Christmas carols at school - Mr. Schue is delusional sometimes.

At least that whole Christmas carol thing ended up sorta working out in the end.

It did? That's good to know.

Yeah, we ended up singing in the teacher's lounge. I think every one of the teachers ended up donating some money. Even Coach Sylvester seemed to like it.

The whole thing ended up being very How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It was kinda cool, actually.

[He sighs and nods] Yeah, I guess they should huh?

[ She nudges him. ]

[The fact that she looks happy means that he just can't help but smile. There's not exactly anything whole-hearted about it or anything, but it's a damn good attempt] There's just sorta bad memories that go along with last Christmas. [He smiles a little more] You're right though.
