So, does it snow like that here often? 'Cause, I mean, if it does, then I guess I could be a little better prepared, you know? Warm clothes and stuff. Probably could stock up on food too. [That last bit is sort of mumbled to himself]

Speaking of clothes and food and stuff -- plus, I don't wanna be a freeloader too much longer -- I think it's probably time I got a job or something. This is probably gonna sound stupid to some people, but I'm not even sure where to start looking. I mean, I'm not even really sure what I'm good at, as far as job skills and things go. Well, I know what I'm good at and everything, I'm just not really sure how it would apply or anything.

[He lays the NV on his bed next to him, so it's just pointed up toward the ceiling now. It's not a bad ceiling. Finn's spent a lot of time looking at it]

I feel sorta useless and changing that would be kinda nice.

[He opens his mouth to start, shakes his head, decides to go in a completely different direction. Different secret]

Um, do you think it's at all stupid to treat this place like, I don't know, some kind of trial run for the real world, for when we get back home?

I don't think it's stupid -- except the real world doesn't include monsters, so maybe it's even smart. You know, home looks like a piece of cake.

It does kinda look like a piece of cake now, doesn't it? I almost miss getting cornered in the locker room and harassed by the other guys on the football team, you know?

And the shoes that were thrown at us when we did Christmas carols at school - Mr. Schue is delusional sometimes.

At least that whole Christmas carol thing ended up sorta working out in the end.

It did? That's good to know.

Yeah, we ended up singing in the teacher's lounge. I think every one of the teachers ended up donating some money. Even Coach Sylvester seemed to like it.

I'll have to see it to believe it, once I get back home.

The whole thing ended up being very How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It was kinda cool, actually.

That's awesome. I'm glad it worked out. Things should, on Christmas.

[He sighs and nods] Yeah, I guess they should huh?

That's Christmas.

[ She nudges him. ]

Look happy.

[The fact that she looks happy means that he just can't help but smile. There's not exactly anything whole-hearted about it or anything, but it's a damn good attempt] There's just sorta bad memories that go along with last Christmas. [He smiles a little more] You're right though.

Of course I am, only natural.

[ laughing a bit. ]

You know, that's a lot better when there's not a serious scowl to go with it. [He laughs too] You kinda used to scowl at me a lot.

Yeah well -

[ She's done all sorts of stupid things when it came down to Finn. It's as if this place has showed her that. ]

I'll try and change it.

[And because she was his first girlfriend as well as hot head cheerleader Quinn Fabray, he took it. Well, until he just couldn't anymore. But everyone has their breaking point. Finding out his girlfriend was pregnant with his best friend's baby served as a pretty good one] It seemed like it didn't happen as much after we broke up, you know? And then the second time we dated... [He simply shrugs]

We were such a high school cliche.

[ She smiles, shaking her head. ]

Cliche. Is that a bad thing?

Sometimes but -

[ she shrugs. ]

While it lasted it was a good one, our cliche.

Yeah, it was. Do you know how awesome it was, being the guy that Quinn Fabray wanted to be with?

[ She nudges him again, laughing. ]

See? It was pretty good.

[He smiles down at her] Well, you kinda made me feel bad about myself some of the time, but I did love you. [And a little quieter--] Sorta still do.

Somehow that was the only way to deal with me feeling bad about myself. I'm sorry. I know I brought you down, and you didn't deserve it.

[ Her smile is gentler. She wipes at her eyes and hugs him. ]

Perhaps we'll always love each other in the sorta kinda way.

You shouldn't feel bad about yourself, Quinn. You're perfect. [At least that's how he described Quinn to Tim.

Finn wraps an arm around her shoulders, lightly stroking her hair with his free hand]

Maybe it's like in those dumb romance movies you used to get me to watch. You never stop loving your first love or something.
