Oooo. This is just like out of one of those Sci-Fi shows, you know. How exciting. Can you all hear me? Well hello, hello there! ~☆

[Waves all friendly-like with a glass of wine in one hand, smiling winsomely.]

Good evening, good evening my dear friends. I do hope all of you are having a stellar evening, indeed. I'm…What is it they say? Newly Arrived? Oh, it's really all very strange. Very confusing. Why, I've been absolutely terrified!~

Also, I confess, a little exhausted.

[Fans himself briskly with one hand and sits up from what appears to be a posh-looking couch that most certainly wasn't in the Starter Apartments, letting forth a dramatic sigh.]

Well, since it appears we're going to be stuck here for a while why don't you let me tell you a little about myself so we might get to know each other better, hm?

My name is Pegasus J. Crawford, inventor of a wonderful card game called Duel Monsters, chairman and CEO of Industrial Illusions, and I come from America. California, to be specific. Ha, ha.~ It's a wonderful place, really.

[Giggles at that, as if telling the most amusing joke.]

But now that you know who I am, it's only fair that I should like to get to know all of you. So, boy do I have a little question for you, Siren's Port:

Do any of you like to play games? I invented one, you know. Maybe you could help lil' old me pass the time? A winner-take-all duel, you might say. The loser takes me out to dinner. Or, if you're so inclined, maybe show me around. I could really use a tour. How about it, hm?

Well, well. It's about time someone said hello..I was beginning to think I was put on an island all by my lonesome. And while I do like my solitary time sometimes it's nice to fresh things up with a new face.

Well, you never know about people nowadays. Plus I really would like a guide of some kind. Maybe someone to show me a nice time or a dinner out on the town. Can't say I've gotten this bad of hospitality since the 80's.

But we mustn't judge too harshly based on appearances. Wouldn't you agree? I hardly want to call any mental deficiencies into question…That would be rude. It's simply not polite at all to be so...presumptuous.

Well, that largely depends on who you're playing against. And what strategies you use. But, I assure you, in time, once you learn how to play it's not difficult at all.

Ha, ha. Have to play? No, it's not a requirement...I simply wished to see if I could share my joy with this world since it seems no one here has ever heard of Duel Monsters before.

I'm pretty good at games... video games, anyway. What's your card game like? I've never heard of you before.

It's a little of everything~ Magic, monsters, adventurous battles, strategy, and excitement.

I'm going to have to write up a rulebook somehow...[Ponders.] Anyways, generally speaking you have two opponents who face one another in what is called a Duel. You use Monsters to conduct these duels and play them on a Field. Each opponent has a set number of Life Points, and the first one to reduce these Life Points to 0 wins.

There are also different card types such as Trap and Magic cards that help aid you in your strategies. That's the briefest explanation I can give.

Video games, you said? [How to relate it to that..Hm.]

My company Industrial Illusions has created quite a feature to enhance the game. Pity I don't have it here to show you. A virtual system, you might say...Taking place in a physical Duel Ring, or "The Field", where you conduct your battles and where the Monsters come to life. It can be quite exciting.

And naturally. If this is indeed a different world altogether from my own then I scarcely see how you would know of me.
