012 Twelfth Petal Video
[Byakuya has recovered from being battered by angel reiatsu during the SERO raid. He hasn't complained, merely stayed in his house and recovered from the owie.
However, today, he is in his room, at his desk with papers spread in front of him. He glances up at the feed.]
I am announcing it now, though I have already tendered my resignation. I will be leaving Hawthorne University at the end of this semester.
I bear no ill will toward the university or anyone who remains there. I will, of course, be searching for a new position immediately.
Fail!Locked to the NPP
I am also tendering my resignation to the NPP.
As I have not been attending meetings at all, I doubt this will come as a surprise.
My reasonings are thus: I find the leadership's policies to clash with my own code of owner. I cannot condone guilty until proven innocent.
I will, of course, answer any and all questions posed to me.

I'm sorry I won't be able to assist you wherever you'll be going, Byakuya.
[ She's sincere about this too. ]

Regardless of your feelings on the committee's agenda, what a way to stir scandal, after how far we've come.
What exactly is your grievance now, with policies of leadership?

As for your statement, which you felt the need to broadcast to the entire network; I will not stand lies said about myself, nor the NPP. Our policies only clash, because you have found yourself twisting the truth to suit your own agenda. In the case of Doctor Michael Xavier, he was suspended from the board because he was under suspicion for a crime, and from what I was able to glean from his so called "legal proxy", he was not in the right mental state of mind to handle the strain of his work, both in the medical field, and within the political party. As both the head of the board, and a friend of his, I did what I thought was best, for both the party, and him. I told his "legal proxy" what was going on at the time, and while he did get back to me, much later, he also tendered his resignation from the board.
He was not pushed out. He was not found guilty of anything, though public opinion may differ; the party is not the public. We stand united in our cause, and we stand united in our position. We are neither judge, nor jury, and have never said we are. This is not an argument, this is a statement, so that everyone knows that we are not the monsters you wish to make us out to be.
In regards to your resignation, I am glad to accept it. We do not want our members to skip multiple meetings, tell the entire network lies about our policies, and make a mockery out of everything we have been working for. And on a personal note, which I am sure I will be told I should not say on the network; good riddance.

Whether or not that lock was unintentional, though, that was the most unprofessional exit.
[And Lee doesn't like how it seemed deliberate. As a fighter, he can read the signs of it in Byakuya's movement.]
Not even a rank and file worker would broadcast their resignation to the public until it had already been processed. If you had an argument with the party, you should have made sure to keep it in a closed discussion.
[Private]
[And no, he can't. Byakuya is very aware of body language and has done nothing but grade papers since the feed came on, except an occasional glance at the camera. He hasn't given it away at all.]
[Private]
Were they in your presence when you switched your filter to private? Because that lock failed you.
By corporate standards, resignations are best not announced on any medium that can be leaked to the public. In fact, they are best done in person to ensure confidentiality. It's a way of giving the organization some degree of respect as you make your exit. Afterwards, you are pretty much free to talk openly about what you didn't like.
Aside from that, leaking things about the last organization you were with and your habit of not coming to meetings may have repercussions on your next job.
For starters, you have literally no idea what you're talking about, so please shut your mouth before you embarrass yourself further and let the adults continue the conversation.
Secondly, for someone who is so invested in matters of justice, you certainly took your time to resign from your position. I returned -- what, in March? It is now halfway through May? You certainly took your time deciding what to do on such an impassioned issue.
Thirdly, you have never once asked for my side of the story. In doing this, you are doing the same exact thing you are accusing everyone else of doing -- jumping to conclusions that are supposedly well-founded in your eyes. Hardly surprising, as that seems to be what everyone on Team Magneto is doing, but that's fine. Whatever. You can all go sit in your convoluted cesspool of ignorance for all I care. But don't make the mistake of playing hero when you are doing anything but.
[His tone slips into something hardened, cold, and authoritative.]
I'm afraid I'll have to echo the sentiments of Mister Creed when I say good riddance to both you and your ridiculously stupid opinion on matters that don't actually concern you, but I imagine that when you receive this, you'll either inform me that I'm wrong, that I shouldn't be trusted because I'm a demon, or ignore it because my opinion obviously isn't worth a damn in your fancy little definition of justice.
The fact of the matter is that Doctor Michael Xavier murdered me because he thought he needed to know how to kill a demon. Should anyone wish to ask me about it, my feed is open, but something tells me you will continue to be further involved in your childish bullshit to bother asking the opinion of someone you obviously find beneath you.
[And he ends the feed.]
Are you prepared to listen to reasoning or are you not finished with your childish tantrum?
(no subject)

At times I wonder what it would be like to come from a world, as it seems you do, in which one has the luxury of not needing to treat accusations of this nature seriously. There is a vast difference between presumption of guilt and a show of caution.
I have treated all accusations seriously. My associate was once almost jailed on the presumption of guilt without proof. It is something I take very seriously.
