[Byakuya has recovered from being battered by angel reiatsu during the SERO raid. He hasn't complained, merely stayed in his house and recovered from the owie.

However, today, he is in his room, at his desk with papers spread in front of him. He glances up at the feed.]

I am announcing it now, though I have already tendered my resignation. I will be leaving Hawthorne University at the end of this semester.

I bear no ill will toward the university or anyone who remains there. I will, of course, be searching for a new position immediately.

I am also tendering my resignation to the NPP.

As I have not been attending meetings at all, I doubt this will come as a surprise.

My reasonings are thus: I find the leadership's policies to clash with my own code of owner. I cannot condone guilty until proven innocent.

I will, of course, answer any and all questions posed to me.

I never said it should. To assume guilt without proof, however, allows the party to be manipulated from the outside by those who would accuse the members of heinous acts. If the party then suspends all who are accused without proof, how much work can they truly get done, while waiting for such proof that may never arise.

To the specific instance of Xavier-sensei: His proxy, which I understand is a legal term, spoke to the network in a timely manner. It was my understanding from that posting that he was unable to speak.

Has any evidence to the contrary been uncovered?

There's a little thing called "public relations" in politics and sadly, it's at the top of the stack as far as concerns go. Mr. Creed couldn't sit and wait without comment while a man accused of murder sat on the board for the NPP.

Had Mr. Xavier or his proxy come to Mr. Creed after the dust had settled, the suspension would have been lifted in lieu of a lack of criminal charges.

However, I was not aware that Creed had been elected judge and jury of the political party.

The head of a political party, or a clan, is not made judge and jury for a reason.

I had thought they would. Until Creed stated that everyone would be declared guilty until proven innocent, they did. I cannot align myself with a group so open to outside manipulation.
