[Byakuya has recovered from being battered by angel reiatsu during the SERO raid. He hasn't complained, merely stayed in his house and recovered from the owie.

However, today, he is in his room, at his desk with papers spread in front of him. He glances up at the feed.]

I am announcing it now, though I have already tendered my resignation. I will be leaving Hawthorne University at the end of this semester.

I bear no ill will toward the university or anyone who remains there. I will, of course, be searching for a new position immediately.

I am also tendering my resignation to the NPP.

As I have not been attending meetings at all, I doubt this will come as a surprise.

My reasonings are thus: I find the leadership's policies to clash with my own code of owner. I cannot condone guilty until proven innocent.

I will, of course, answer any and all questions posed to me.

I have treated all accusations seriously. My associate was once almost jailed on the presumption of guilt without proof. It is something I take very seriously.

Nothing has been done and no charges have been pressed. But in the midst of the confusion and immediate aftermath, I fail to see how what the political party did was unjust. They were protecting themselves just as others involved were.

As I stated to Creed, it was not necessary to 'protect' anything. My true issue was that he stated 'guilty until proven innocent' was how the committee would be run, no matter the charge.

It was necessary to protect both their members and their appearance, which such organizations run on. Anyone suspected of murder, proven or otherwise, is a risk; it is not unreasonable that they would operate in such a manner no matter the charge.

Had it not continued with every member being open to suspension for an accused crime, no matter what it was, I might have understood. However, the fallout from such a policy could be catastrophic.

Many other crimes would warrant the same response. Even something harmless such as theft would reflect badly upon the organization.

[Angels outrank Reapers by far in SPNverse, but it's up in the air fro crosscanon! Especially since I think shinigami are far more important in Bleachverse than Reapers in SPNverse.]
