~001 Comedy Mask~ [Video]
Ah- yes. Hello. This... is Garret Hawke here. The Champion of Kirkwall. I appear to be in a place that's... not where I went to sleep. So either I've been drinking in the Hanged man again, or I've been kidnapped by some form of wily demon.
[He sighed and gave that beard a scratch.]
The thing is, I'm a big fan of knowing where I am, and there's a lot of things here that really make me question what I had to drink last night. These buildings don't look like anything in Kirkwall. Or Fereldan. Maybe these are tevinter buildings? No. Fenris probably would have commented on how they were built by slaves or something.
[He shook his head and sighed.]
Well. If anyone could give me information I'd pay them in... [He checked for his purse.] A charming smile and perhaps even a flirty wink.

action;
[He said seriously, putting a hand to his blade, as a sort of encouragement for Fenris.]
We will have to sort that out then. [Hawke places a hand on Fenris's shoulder reassuringly giving it a squeeze.]
I will not allow slavery if I can help it.
action;
Let us move on, then.
Re: action;
[He chuckled and followed Fenris's direction, looking around.]
Does seeing all these... odd things become normal? Please tell me it becomes normal, this facial expression would hurt to stay in for long periods of time.
[He looks up at a street lamp that's had the sensor covered so it's stuck on.]
... It glows? Is that machine or magic?
action;
[It feels so weird to be leading.]
Re: action;
[It feels really weird to be following. Though he can finally see the benefit of it. Fenris has quite the fine butt to fall in behind.]
Do you live alone? [He asked watching Fenris's stride.] I've always wondered what it'd be like for us to live in little sections. We couldn't live together, You'd kill Anders, Anders would kill Merril. Isabela and Aveline would kill eachother and I'd be left with an awful lot of murder to cover up.
action;
[He holds his tongue about Anders. They hadn't killed each other so far, but then again this is a completely different Anders. Someone he hasn't seen in quite a while, actually. Troublingly so.]
I suppose you haven't met Zevran yet. He is-- a friend of Isabela's.
[He nearly falters there. Is it okay to call Zevran his own friend, too?]
Re: action;
[Hawke smiled. It was becoming clearer to him that Hawke still had work to do when it came to Fenris and his esteem. A little guilt washed over him as he nodded to the elf.]
Oh well. Any friend of Isabela's who doesn't want to kill me is a friend of mine.
Re: action;
[Does that count? Oh, and they like pointy sticks? As in-- weapons. Not the-- er, yes. Anyway.]
I doubt he'd want to kill you, no. I rather suspect the two of you will get along.
action;
[He chuckled. Oh Fenris.]
Oh! Good. You know how fond I am of attactive elves. Especially when they don't want to kill me.
[Hawke's answers to everything: Crack a joke, Be charming, Lie, Flirt, if all else fails kill it. In this case? Flirt.]
Re: action;
[He seems to fluster a little at the question, eyes averted and posture tensing. He's not used to admitting so openly and so freely about things like that. It was weird enough saying such things to Hawke, his closest friend. The only one he thought he'd ever have.]
It is a wonder you and Isabela get along.
action;
[He was amused, but behind his little mischievous smile he did actually feel proud of Fenris. His life was certainly in need of enriching. But he had faith. Fenris was far too smart to let his life go to waste.
Hawke stayed quiet as they continued on his way back to Fenris's apartment. He was thinking a few things over, it wasn't often he had to think like this, but he'd snap out of it soon.]
action;
He isn't the type to pester, so he allows Hawke his moment to think, quickly padding through the city streets. And yeah, he still doesn't wear shoes.]
action;
Are shoes here the enemy too?
[Ah yes. Something to tease him with gently. Okay, Hawke was in a new world, there was apparently a version of him that was a rogue, but there was also odd technology here. But, there's nothing he can do right now, so it's best to just go one foot in front of the other.]
Sorry. I got lost in a maze of my own thought, and I know what you're thinking, the maze can't have been all that big but I kept getting turned around and it was a mess.
action;
[Only Hawke could make Fenris smile this easily.]
Did-- you have any questions? I will do my best to answer them.
action;
[He scratched his beard and looked up at the building that Fenris had lead them towards.]
Do you live here?
action;
[He walks into the building. Thankfully, it's not up many flights of stairs, not as many as his old apartment when he lived on his own.]
You are welcome to take my room, if you wish. I do not often use it.
[He much prefers to sleep on the comfy armchair Re-l gave him.]
Re: action;
[He chuckles.]
I'm intruding on your hospitality. You're supposed to say: "Well, I could offer you the bed." And then I have to say: "Oh no, I wouldn't want to intrude, you take the bed." And then we argue back and forward and you force me to take the bedroom and act offended that I took it. Clearly you have a lot to learn as a host.
[Ah. This place is... high up. Imagine living in a tower. Imagine having living space in the tower.]
action;
[When isn't Hawke joking... Ah, well. They're almost there!]
In any case, I've already been here for months. While leaving seems possible, it is also something we cannot control.
action;
[Hawke didn't mind stairs. Kirkwall had a lot of stairs, so did his house really.]
Right. Trapped, got it.
[He didn't like that at all. But he needed to know the facts.]
Have you fared well? [A carefully coded question, if Fenris hadn't? Then he had to fix it. Like he would for all of his friends.]
action;
...as well as anyone can in this blighted city.
[On the last few steps, he seems to make an excessive amount of noise, feet stamping a little harder than normal and keys jingling as he opens the door. It's precaution's sake.]
action;
Is this a Tevinter dance craze I've not heard of?
Re: action;
[He'll leave the...assassin part for Zevran to explain.
They step inside-- and it's a pretty barren place. None of the occupants are really used to owning much.]
Re: action;
[Hawke shook his head and made a face before stepping inside.]
Not quite high town... not low town either.
[Gifts. Gifts are what these people needed. Nothing extravagant... just something to make it more homey.]
So who lives here, You, Isabela's Friend Zevran. Anyone else?
action;
[He stands around awkwardly for a moment.]
Are you-- thirsty?
action;
[Tell me please. You're starting to make me worry.]
