Good morning, fellow newcomers. My name is Lee Chaolan, President and CEO of Violet Systems.

I've been considering that with the amount of newcomer-owned businesses here that we should set aside a little time to celebrate our work and share it with the rest of the island in a grand event. With that in mind, I'd like to know what you would think of a weekend-long Newcomer Business Convention-- not just to showcase our products and work, but also to help make it easier for some of our fellow newcomers to find employment in newcomer-run jobs.

At the same time, it would also be nice to have panel discussions on running newcomer businesses and even how to start up businesses for those with high hopes of creating one.

Let me know what you think, or if you'd be willing to participate. I'll be bringing this up with the Newcomer Political Party if the responses turn out favorable. I would want to help keep this kind of affair as neutral as possible, so as to be fair to all newcomers.

Yes. I've been running Violet Systems in the Port since May of last year, and I've been living on the island since late 2010.

Then they were foolish to ignore you. So much of success these days comes down to contacts, after all.

[That elicits a smirk out of the other man.] That's true. Doing business without reliable connections is sure to result in failure.

[He laughs through his nose, shaking his head.] Ah, well. It's of no consequence. You seem to be floating along well enough without that sort of person- besides, your project may help you along in that respect anyway.

[He beams.] I hope it will help a great deal for your business as well. That's what I've aimed to do, after all. I would truly appreciate any input you'd have on this project.

Certainly. I have a few boys I could loan you for security purposes, if you should need a human touch anywhere. They're not programmed, but they'll do as I tell them well enough.

Alright. Sephiroth, my head of security for the event, says that he would like to choose his own men. But I'll let him know that we can loan a few from you.

Ah, don't let me intrude upon that. I didn't mean to suggest that you wouldn't have things covered.

It's no problem. And besides that, it would be rude of me to turn down assistance of any kind from an associate.
