So, does it snow like that here often? 'Cause, I mean, if it does, then I guess I could be a little better prepared, you know? Warm clothes and stuff. Probably could stock up on food too. [That last bit is sort of mumbled to himself]

Speaking of clothes and food and stuff -- plus, I don't wanna be a freeloader too much longer -- I think it's probably time I got a job or something. This is probably gonna sound stupid to some people, but I'm not even sure where to start looking. I mean, I'm not even really sure what I'm good at, as far as job skills and things go. Well, I know what I'm good at and everything, I'm just not really sure how it would apply or anything.

I feel sorta useless and changing that would be kinda nice.

You've been here for a year and a half? That's awesome, though. I mean, I know a lot of people don't make it as far in a job in a lifetime as you did in a year and a half.

Almost two years now, yes. [Pauses.] Yes, I would agree with that. My crowning achievement was setting up the community center and the political party, though. In my opinion.

Really? You did that? You seem really... Is it proactive? [At least he thinks that's the word he's looking for]

Proactive would be correct, yes. I find that I need to do something with my time. And while my services back home are no longer required, here, I'll do what needs to be done to help everyone else.

What is it that you usually do? You know, if it's not me being too nosy or anything.

Of course not. I was head of security back home for my city.

So, you kinda came here and did the same thing then.

It was easy to find a job at the club that was based on my strengths. The NPP came into being when I decided to try something new.

Did you just wake up one morning and decide to do the political thing?

Yes.

If you put the work into it, anything is possible and easy.

Well, I don't really know about the easy part.

...You're right. Perhaps it's not easy. But if you enjoy it, you find that it doesn't matter.

But doesn't it piss you off if you work and work for something and it just doesn't seem like you get anywhere?

Of course. That's why I don't stay with something that will not let me advance.

But-- I don't know. I guess that makes sense and everything.

Perhaps trying something new every once in awhile? You can't stay with something until you know you want to.
