[ He's speaking a little slowly, the bitterness properly enunciated in the slight tipsy slur to his voice. ]

… You know. I wasn't going to think anything of it, I have way better things to be working on and thinking about, but the more I think about it the more it's really burning me up. I mean, I really wasn't going to think anything of it but then--

[ He clicks his tongue and pauses to take another sip of whatever he's drinking. ]

I think that's really great. Really. My dad never remembered my birthday and he always blamed it on the leap year, but -- but my birthday's the twenty-eighth, that's just bullshit, right? I -- I, um -- it's so stupid, I don't even know if they remember either because I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to be dead--

[ There's a clink as something breaks, and apparently spills as well. ]

Oopsie. What was I saying? Oh -- no, the worst part is I forgot about my birthday too! [ He laughs a little, quiet and forced and slightly whimpery. ] Usually Liz says it to me in the morning, but…

'm not sure what I'm trying to say actually. I'm just giving myself a headache.

Relationships in our world are always complicated. I always tack on the sort of. That way, I'm never wrong. So c'mon up. Brownies, dude. Francis made 'em.

[Jubilee has to clear her throat, but she's sitting at the table, with a steaming mug of coffee and a sketchpad.] Hey.

[ He comes in a little slowly, his cheeks and eyes still a bit red from drinking. ]

Hey. What'd you say your name was?

[She's got a huge brownie sundae in front of her. With sprinkles, whipped cream peanuts, hot fudge... the whole nine yards.]

There's another one of these in the freezer if you want one.

[Said around a spoon in her mouth. Because OMNOMNOM.]

I'm Jubilee. [She coughs slightly and smiles a bit.] Of the X-Men.

[ That sundae is pretty intimidating. He wobbles past the table toward the freezer a bit awkwardly. ]

The X-Men? [ There's a lot of them about, it seems. ] I'm Harry. But I guess you already know that.

Been an X-Man for a while. How're you settlin' in?

I've never known any. Personally, anyway. [ He opens the freezer. ] ... Fine. Helps that Pete and MJ are here.

All you really need to know is that I'm the adorable one and Logan, umm, Wolverine, is the cranky one. Everybody else? Eh. [She shrugs scraping more hot fudge up with her spoon.]

So what prompted the boozapalooza?

Noted. I know who he is, sort of. [ He sits down at the table. ] It's a long story. Or a really short one. Maybe you could call it a mid-life crisis.

Mmm. [She's gotta eat more of the sundae.]

Alrighty. So, drinking solves nothing, yada yada yada. There you've been scolded. Wanna just hang for the night?

You don't need to scold me. I've gotta have at least a decade on you. [ He drums his fingers. ] What did you have planned? I'm not exactly the most upbeat of company.

So do Cyclops, the White Queen, and Wolverine. What makes you think I don't scold them?

[She does. On a regular basis because... yeah.]

I was thinking movies, these sundaes and vegetating in front of the television. Anything else requires too much effort.

Because I don't -- [ He blinks. ] I guess I didn't think about it?

[ He finally tastes his sundae, taking small bites. ]

What movies you got?

[Have a smirk. Most people don't believe her when she says that. Good on you for barely questioning.]

Mostly horror or action films with weak plots and lots of explosions. There might be a western or two in there.

[A pause.]

Not sure what else, honestly.

[ It helps that he doesn't know much about them as people. ]

Action, then. I'm not in the mood for horror.

[Jubilee waves him at the living room.]

[She picks up her sundae and collapses on the couch, dragging a blanket over her.]

[ He only glances at them, picking the one that looks the stupidest and putting it in the player. He sits down on the opposite side of the couch. ]
