Ah, quick question. What do people eat on a regular basis?

[Normally this would be an easy question to answer, but....she's so confused.]

I mean, I imagine you can't eat the same thing every day, but how do you keep it diverse too? Do you have to go shopping every few days? And cooking, do you have to do it three times a day too?

Honestly I have no idea how you get anything done if you're cooking or eating all the time.

[HELP HER.]

Eggs and beans are easy and quick to make, and are fairly healthy. Or oatmeal with fruit.

But - ah, what sort of person are you cooking for? Yourself or someone else?

[Two and a half years here and hearing something like that still gives him pause.]

Oh. Sorry. Ah...are you - mechanical? Is that the word...

[Another term he's only learned here, but this one is a little less familiar. He narrows his eyes curiously.]

And you don't need to eat? At all?
retraced: (oh... part one)

Oh.

[Using a very small voice at this point, but there's also an ounce of realization there.]

May I ask...where you get blood from here?

Ah, well that's...

[He'd assumed human blood! He sighs in relief; clearly this guy isn't a vegetarian of any type, and he's quick to accept it. Either he's been here too long and has already heard every outrageous thing that he's ever going to hear, or he's just that easy going. Though from his awkward tone, it's pretty obviously the former.]

If you're already going to the butcher, then getting fresh meat for your friend shouldn't be a problem. Some are healthier than others, though.
