i've known people who have been gone over a year before they showed up again. it can't hurt to keep on hoping that you'll see them again. well, i mean, it could hurt, but please don't give up.

I don't think there's ever a time you can say for sure they aren't coming back. This is the third time my apprentice has arrived here, and he'd been gone for a long time after he'd left each time.

I've noticed it usually either takes people about a week or two to decide that someone is actually gone and start moving on. Like it's either a week or two, or it's months/years/never.

The unpredictable nature of the Core makes providing answers, or reassurances, difficult.

I was told that I was here a year ago, perhaps a little more. But I have no recollection of such a time.

The way people come and go here is completely ridiculous. Believe me.

I'm speaking from my own experience. This is the third time I've been here and as of a few days ago, I was gone for eight months. So there might be hope.

Often enough, apparently, but that doesn't mean they'll remember anything if they do.

I know. And not everyone comes back, and sometimes it takes years, and sometimes it's only weeks, but other times it's just days. And I shouldn't give up hope, because most people come back, but having hope is just a ticket to disappointment, because really they don't.

Somehow, I'm inclined to believe the cynics.
