[Anyone familiar with Souji Seta's apartment will recognize where Yosuke is immediately. He's sitting on the bed, which is unmade in a way it never would be if Souji had anything to say about it. There are cups of tea sitting around too, abandoned and forgotten. For all of that, Yosuke doesn't seem relaxed or well-rested. He just looks a little mussed and out of it.]

I'unno 'f anyone. Uh. Who needsta know. But somebody...he had a job. So-so, 'f you worked with him he's not playin' hooky, alright? I waited t' make sure. A while. Long time. 'Cause he wasn't answering, so I-um.

Anyway, 'm doin' this wrong. I just mean-um. Mean that Souji Seta is gone. Is all. So, please excuse him from work.

(OoC: For people who don't know, Souji Seta is Yosuke's canon best friend and was his sole cast mate. Who also made the mistake of giving him a bottle of vodka to celebrate his 17th birthday. Whoops.)

[His face falls a bit at that, but he nods anyway. Yeah, Souji was a friend. And a lot of other really important things that no one else would ever be able to understand. But "friend" is the best explanation, definitely.]

Oh. [Although he's guessing, it doesn't hurt to put two and two together.] And...he somehow went back to your place?

[That's a good question. It's what everyone says, isn't it? Yosuke isn't as sure about that as he might have been if he'd never met Shika and Nill and Naruto, but he nods anyway. It's still the only answer that people are looing for.]

[Which is a lie, too. Even if Souji is home, safe isn't the right word for it. But it feels a little better to say it anyway. It's a nice thought.]

[Probably as safe as a Viking village, maybe. Then again, that is considered safe for him.]

[Usually Yosuke has no shortage of words of his own, but at the moment he seems to be stuck on echoing everyone else's words back at them. It's tough to work things out.]

[At least he's responding. Still, Hiccup's brow furrows as he idly scratches the back of his head.]

[He pats the NV reassuringly, however. See? Everything is cool. You don't have to look all wrinkly faced on his behalf, bro.]

[He can't help it. All these wrinkles, just for you.]

[Well, that's thoughtful. Yosuke would normally feel pretty guilty about making people look concerned that way, but at the moment he's a bit too out of it to really notice.]

[He's seen too many of the Viking men near this state of mind and had enough experience in handling them. This is on a smaller scale, so it was only logical.]

Okay. And if you need anything, I'll be here. [Considering "here" is in the NV screen, he gives a shrug after thinking about it.] Close enough.

[Yosuke smiles a little at that. He's still sad, yeah, so it's not his best smile. But it is the best damned attempt at one he can muster up at the moment. This is nice of you, dude. He'll do his best to remember it in the morning.]
