[While he’s recently discovered to have found himself in Canada, in a town that doesn’t seem to exist, John is still reluctant to give his last name. He doesn’t know if his enemies are here and isn’t going to risk the chance. So for now, everyone will know him as Baum and not Connor.]

I’m sort of new to Siren’s Port. [He didn’t come here by choice, doesn’t want to be here, but he might as well learn more about this town.] I received the newcomer letter, but I have a feeling there’s still a lot it’s not telling me.

If anyone here is willing to give me a bit more information, especially those Darkness monsters, it would really help me out a lot.

It’s John.

Siren’s Port, Canada. I’ve never heard of it before, but it’s where I am. I’m alive, unhurt, and unsure of how I got here. I’m alone, no Terminators as far as I can tell, but everyone claims there are monsters that come out only at night. I haven’t seen them myself, but something about this place tells me they’re telling the truth.

Communication is a little strange here, and a part of me knows that this message won't reach you, but it's worth a shot to send it out. [Translation: Come find me and get me out of here now.]

Besides the fact that they're dangerous? They pretty much come in all shapes and sizes.

You can kill them, I think, but they just come back the next night.

I've...also heard that they're the souls of people who've died here? I'm not really sure how you'd check and confirm that, but that's what a lot of people say.

I figured they were dangerous. I don't plan on any suicide missions to go out and attempt to kill it, I just want to know more.

...and the fact that people claim they're the souls of those who died is a good thing to know. Remind me not to die here.

Dying in general is bad so I would definitely encourage you not to do that.

The darkness monsters will go up in flames, if you can produce enough. The ones I fought, anyway.

So they can be killed with fire. Good to know.

Don't assume it will hold true for all of them, but it's worth a shot, at least.

I can also produce extremely hot fire.

They're scary, they're not easy to kill, and you only run into them when it gets dark.

There's a guide floating around somewhere that has all the details. It's great "Welcome to Siren's Port" reading material.

I know a lot, but there are people who know more... I can get you that book, though. Mostly you need to watch out for certain sectors, the bigger ones like to hang out in the orchards and around the farmlands.

The only advise I'd give about the monsters is to stay away from them... Sorry I don't have details, I know there are others who do.
