My name is John Baum.

[While he’s recently discovered to have found himself in Canada, in a town that doesn’t seem to exist, John is still reluctant to give his last name. He doesn’t know if his enemies are here and isn’t going to risk the chance. So for now, everyone will know him as Baum and not Connor.]

I’m sort of new to Siren’s Port. [He didn’t come here by choice, doesn’t want to be here, but he might as well learn more about this town.] I received the newcomer letter, but I have a feeling there’s still a lot it’s not telling me.

If anyone here is willing to give me a bit more information, especially those Darkness monsters, it would really help me out a lot.

It’s John.

Siren’s Port, Canada. I’ve never heard of it before, but it’s where I am. I’m alive, unhurt, and unsure of how I got here. I’m alone, no Terminators as far as I can tell, but everyone claims there are monsters that come out only at night. I haven’t seen them myself, but something about this place tells me they’re telling the truth.

Communication is a little strange here, and a part of me knows that this message won't reach you, but it's worth a shot to send it out. [Translation: Come find me and get me out of here now.]

No problem. Watch out for the docks, too. It's not just the monsters you need to be careful of in this place. You need to watch out for the companies, too.

Yeah, I don't really trust companies in general. And something seems off about these two in particular.

That's probably a good way to start. AGI is in entertainment, which also includes sex slavery. SERO is more into technology, medicine, that kind of thing, but... you never know, right?

[He doesn't like anything that you mentioned, but one particular word does spark his interest.] What sort of technology is SERO into?

Depends? I work with Violet Systems, we mostly do security systems and robotics, among other little projects. Others work on AIs, computer systems, videogames... all of it.

So pretty much, the basics. [Which is dangerous. Least SKYNET isn't here right? No terminators?]

Pretty much the basics. Some of the stuff here is more advanced then what I have back home, but not by much. Some of the people here are used to more tech then this... I think most of the stuff in this city are either security or entertainment.

[He's making a mental note of this; planning on seeing these robotics in action, maybe even digging deeper than just the surface. Though it'll be relatively hard, he's done it before.]
