08 [ V i d e o ] Buffy & Willow!

[The feed starts with the ceiling getting further away and a crash as the NV hits the floor. Willow rubs her hand looking down at the NV tapping it gingerly with her finger drawing back. Huh... No shocking.]

That’s weird.

[As if something from a horror film, a silhouette formed behind her and the cord from the toaster wrapped around her neck and pulled her backwards.]

Buff--

[She choked, attempting to wrestle the cord from her throat.]

[ Buffy has been spending her morning not waking up on time. The smell of coffee wafting to her room is what roused her finally. She was groggy and still in her pajamas, even. But the second she hears Willow, and a clear struggle from the kitchen, she jumps out of bed and bolts down the hall. ]

Will!

[ She sees the commotion, is immediately worried, and goes to work. She manages to wrestle the part of the cord closest to the actual toaster into her hands and pries at it, trying to get it off of Willow’s neck. ]

Just don’t die! I’ll -- get it --

[ But it’s clear she’s struggling. Whatever force is controlling these is pretty impressive. Add that to still being sleepy, and... Well. She yanks again and manages to get it to loosen just a little, but she’s not sure it’ll last long. She’s managed to get her fingers enough between the cord and Willow’s neck to help, but just as she does that, the coffee machine revolts as well. Before she can react, a cord snaps from the wall and wraps itself around her wrists, rendering her useless. ]

Wh-- Willow!

[She’d managed to gasp a breath with the small relief Buffy had given her, but enough? Was enough. A surge of power rose through her body and her pupils stretched beyond their normal size, covering her irises.

She gestured violently, a knife shooting out of the rack and freeing Buffy from her cord. She gripped the cord around her own neck and seemed to relax, melting away at her touch. She turned before the appliance could react and shot a green blast of energy at it. It shattered.]

What is it with this place and killer inanimate objects?

[ Buffy shakes her wrists free of the remainder of the coffee maker’s cord. Why did the coffee maker have to go all evil? Now how would she wake herself up? Her head snaps this way and that, checking the other appliances to see what else they might be looking at. ]

We darkness-proofed this whole thing! What’s the deal?

[Before either girl had a chance to react properly, the oven door opened and a burst of heat hit them. Willow turned instinctively in time to see what it was, just in time to see a jet of flame narrowly miss her.

Backing away from the oven was no real option, The fridge wanted its chance too. However, realistically it couldn’t shoot anything, but it was still a hefty weight. It toppled itself over, aiming to squish the blonde woman in front of it.]

Obfuscate

[A white mound of foam shot into the Oven and expanded, not allowing any flames to come from it. She turned to Buffy]

Let’s get out of--

Fridge!

[ Buffy puts her arms up instinctively, holding them out in front of her to catch the massive appliance. She braces herself and uses all of her strength to keep it from crushing her, but she won’t last much longer with it bearing down how it is. ]

Run! Go!

[She concentrates on it and attempts to push it up, she struggles for a moment, but it does lift enough for Buffy to get away.]

We both go! Now go.

[ Buffy gives one last shove, just for good measure, before she drops and rolls out of the way. It’s the fastest and safest exit. She looks back at Willow one last time, her worry now focused on the black-eyedness, before she darts out of view. ]

((OOC:: Both will respond! Also, SPN cast? Willow looks exactly like a demon! Have at it!))

[ Oh, don't be like that. He's doing his job! ]

It didn't hurt her, Prue. I thought she was in danger.

Yeah, and what about next time?

What if the next thing you think some witch is can only be killed with something that would do actual damage to her?

I'm not going to do that. I was working based on past experience-- a lot of past experience. There's usually a really crucial time component to helping these people. But, Prue-- you have to believe me. I won't hurt anyone. I'm not just gonna go around running people through with wooden stakes.

I have a lot of experience with demons, too, but I've learned not to assume everything works the same way.

[It's dismaying, to see him run off half-cocked, assuming things. Prue can't help look at this and wonder what might happen next- what situation will make him take after his brother or his dad? How dangerous could these people be?

She doesn't want to think that Sam could be like that, but it's hard to ignore. She's been burned before.]

It always has before. [ He shakes his head. ] Look, I'm sorry. I'll keep saying it. But, at least no one got hurt.
astralling: (~ kinda had that one coming)

You have nothing to apologize for. You were just doing what you thought was right, that's all.

[She smiles well enough, but.]

Yeah. [ He would do the same thing again, really. Even at his own expense. He wants to keep these people safe, like he's been trying to do his whole life. ]

... I'll talk to you later, alright?
