[Gohan's energy is very tighly controlled and pushed down when he returns. Only those particularly adept at sensing such things and also know him very well will be able to detect him that way.

[Overall, Gohan looks rather nonplussed, oddly blank for a kid that usually emotes so obviously. He blinks a little, as if disbelieving his current surroundings for a moment. Oh. So he's really back. Well, he should let people know.]

[Guess who went searching all over the place? Nelliel did. Now that he's back, she's off like a shot to find him.]

[He's not too far from the field, actually. Sitting on a park bench, watching people go by. He can tell she's coming, and lets up on his pressure just a little to make it easier for her. He's kind of expecting the bonecrushing -- well, bonecrushing for normal people; the force won't bother him at all -- hug, and he might actually welcome it.]

[Nelliel can tell that whatever happened while he was away was rough on him, so she'll just hold him for a while.]

[And he just lets her. In a way, it's kind of a relief to not force himself to be the strong one, like he'd felt he'd had to do with Mom.]

Has anything changed here?

[This is another telltale sign he went through something rough at home. He's not even mentioning it. The kid who'd been pretty open the next day about being hunted for sport a couple of months ago isn't up to talking about what had just happened in his world.]

Wasn't even a long time . . . either here or at home, honestly.
