(You know, for all the oddness that came with that time warp thing, it definitely fulfilled one of my college wishes: to have extra time to study for my exam. So I guess I shouldn't complain.)

[Phoenix clears his throat, then activates the video. He's sitting behind his desk at his rather vacant-looking law offices.]

Hi, everyone. This is Phoenix Wright... Thanks to everyone who helped me when I got here last month. I guess I'm settling in a little bit, for better or for worse. Again. If you knew me from before, I'm sorry, but I don't remember most of you. It's, uh, nothing personal. I'd actually like to talk to as many of you as are out there... to kind of see what "I've" been up to before, if anything.

As far as further news goes... I guess coming on the heels of the last post, it's as appropriate a time as any to mention that Wright & Co. Law Offices are open for business again for anyone who needs a defense attorney.

So, will you meet with Szayel to talk with him about his case, Mr. Wright?

I can definitely at least do that, Ms. Nelliel.

Thank you. I appreciate it. Szayel's intelligence makes him a little arrogant at times, so I encourage you to tell him to be quiet and listen because he knows very little about the law here. Or I can come with you and do just that.

[Honestly, she'll even forgive you if you slap him upside the head, Phoenix. But she's fairly sure you won't go that far.]

Um... well, do you think he'll listen to someone he doesn't know? (Especially me.) Maybe you ought to come along, if not.

I will come with you, but he had to fight for his right to even make a phone call to me. Are you sure the prison guards will permit me to be there?

You can be my assistant for this case.

[Nelliel smiles a little at that.]

Maya will be so surprised. Although it would be best to have me there. In my world, the Espada are roughly the equivalent of military generals, ranked from 1-10 based on power and capability in battle. Szayel is number 8 - Octava. I am number 3 - Tercera, so I outrank him.

I think Maya's got plenty of things to assist with... Edgeworth has a big trial coming up too, after all.

[He nods.] I guess that'll probably help, then.

First military, then a fashion model, and now an assistant to a lawyer. You will have to let me know what I need to do to be a proper assistant for a case.

It's a pretty painless job, as far as I can see... But if you need tips, I'd suggest asking Maya.

Well, this is one way to get used to all of the paperwork people seem to have to do for just about everything. I was a little surprised when Franziska had me fill out a form just for making a donation to the Newcomer fund.

[His expression looks a little unsure at the mention of von Karma, but he shrugs.]

Well, I won't make you do too much paperwork, but yeah, there is a lot. That's part of the system, though...

I suppose it would make it harder for people to lie about certain things.

Just to have a record of it, yeah.

In any case... Can we go in the day after tomorrow, maybe?

That's fine with me, Mr. Wright. Can we go in for the afternoon? I have a modelling shoot in the morning.

Sure. Let's try 2:30, then.
