Two - Turnabout Reopening [video]

(You know, for all the oddness that came with that time warp thing, it definitely fulfilled one of my college wishes: to have extra time to study for my exam. So I guess I shouldn't complain.)

[Phoenix clears his throat, then activates the video. He's sitting behind his desk at his rather vacant-looking law offices.]

Hi, everyone. This is Phoenix Wright... Thanks to everyone who helped me when I got here last month. I guess I'm settling in a little bit, for better or for worse. Again. If you knew me from before, I'm sorry, but I don't remember most of you. It's, uh, nothing personal. I'd actually like to talk to as many of you as are out there... to kind of see what "I've" been up to before, if anything.

As far as further news goes... I guess coming on the heels of the last post, it's as appropriate a time as any to mention that Wright & Co. Law Offices are open for business again for anyone who needs a defense attorney.

Well, that's all you can do. I've got my own regrets, but it doesn't seem like there's ever going to be a way to resolve them, so I just have to move on and remember it when it happens.

Reckon so. I've tried t'move on an' all, but... I ain't sure I can, pardner. I'm like a sheriff stuck in a ghost town - even if everybody else is gone, I've got a duty to perform.

...Yeah, maybe. But there are better duties to perform outside of that.

Are there? I'm the only one that seems like they wanna remember that case. Everybody else wanted to move on, forget it ever happened. But not me. 's a matter of pride, hombre. Feel like if I give up now, I'm gonna lose the last thing I got left.

[He pauses, thinking of the best way to sum up how he feels without it sounding too stupid.] They say as long as you remember someone, they'll stay with ya. If I'm the only one that wants to keep Neil's spirit alive, then so be it, I'll be a lone ranger.

But how are you planning to do that?

Is it by being stuck in the past, or by living the kind of life that he would've lived if he were here?

Heh, naw, I could never live the kinda life he did. I ain't a Prospector er nothin'. [... he may just be saying prospector instead of prosecutor to mess with you, Phoenix.] Just a lone cop, that's all.

I jus' wanna remember him fer what he really was... 'stead of a victim. Think that's the hardest part, hearin' how sorry everyone is that he's gone, and not hearin' a lick about him as a man.

Ain't sure I'm livin' the way he'd want. I'm just tryin' to get by, that's all.

Neil... he was a great prosecutor. Won him an award, after all. Was an honest one, too, not like most'a the rotten apples they got workin' in the prosecutor's office. Sweet kid, always polite t'everybody. Only ever remember bein' angry at 'im once in my whole damn life.

... heh. Lookit me carryin' on. Bet you don't wanna hear all this.

...I think we can all relate to stories like that.

The only thing you can do is keep smiling... And keep fighting for your convictions.
