[ Have an awkward wave and although he tries to keep a cool expression, he's failing because WOW this is uncomfortable and awkward. It's like talking to a mirror or something.

There's a long pause as he tries to figure out what next to say. ]

[ Wow, whatever the conversation was about it's promptly forgotten at the mention of Kakashi's name. He visibly reacts to it, tensing and hesitating for a moment. ]

[ Oops, unintentional party foul. ]

He's okay. Naruto and Gai are with him now.

[ Which probably means nothing to him, though. ]

[ It doesn't really and Naruto's name doesn't either, but Gai's does. He almost chokes up and ducks his head a little to hide it, but that doesn't hide the strain in his voice. ]

He was my teammate. [ A pause before he adds quietly: ] And my best friend.
