[ Hello Network, you're treated to a close-up of a single charcoal eye before the person who it belongs to moves back, revealing a young boy with messy black hair that's kept in place with a headband. His left eye is covered with a bandage and he has a very puzzled, uncertain expression on his face. ]

Is this thing on? [ The screen goes blurry for a moment as he taps his NV before he seems to notice something and stops. ]

I was told this reaches some sort of network? [ If his expression is anything to go by, he doesn't... really get it, but he's pressing on regardless, suddenly a bit hopeful. ] And that maybe I could find someone I know on this. So I figured I should introduce myself so uh... Hey, I'm Obito Uchiha of the Uchiha clan from Konohagakure. [ Have an awkward wave and although he tries to keep a cool expression, he's failing because WOW this is uncomfortable and awkward. It's like talking to a mirror or something.

There's a long pause as he tries to figure out what next to say. ]

I've already been explained some things, so there's no need for that I guess. There's only one thing I'm wondering about though... [ He hesitates again for a moment. ] Does anyone remember dying before they came here?

[ And now it just got more awkward. Quickly: ] Uh, that's all! [ OBITO OUT. ]

[ She smiles. ] Our dads were the original Ino-Shika-Cho.

I figured as much! [ A grin and a nod. ] That formation is pretty famous.

Then your dad is... Inoichi-san?

[ She nods. ] Yes, he is.

That's amazing! Heh, he must be pretty old by now.

Not at all. He's not as young as Kurenai or Kakashi-sensei, but he's not old enough to be considered an elder.

[ Wow, whatever the conversation was about it's promptly forgotten at the mention of Kakashi's name. He visibly reacts to it, tensing and hesitating for a moment. ]

How is he...? Kakashi?

[ Oops, unintentional party foul. ]

He's okay. Naruto and Gai are with him now.

[ Which probably means nothing to him, though. ]

Did you know him?

[ It doesn't really and Naruto's name doesn't either, but Gai's does. He almost chokes up and ducks his head a little to hide it, but that doesn't hide the strain in his voice. ]

He was my teammate. [ A pause before he adds quietly: ] And my best friend.

[ She nods. ]

He's one of the best Jounin Konoha has.

[ He brightens slightly. ]

Of course he is. He already made Jounin before... [ 'I died' is implied by a vague hand gesture. ] Him and Sensei are the best Jounin there are.

[ Asuma gave him a run for his money, before Hidan and Kakuzu. ]

It's nice to know some things don't change. But Naruto's going to surpass him soon, even though he's technically only a Genin.
