[ Hello Network, you're treated to a close-up of a single charcoal eye before the person who it belongs to moves back, revealing a young boy with messy black hair that's kept in place with a headband. His left eye is covered with a bandage and he has a very puzzled, uncertain expression on his face. ]

Is this thing on? [ The screen goes blurry for a moment as he taps his NV before he seems to notice something and stops. ]

I was told this reaches some sort of network? [ If his expression is anything to go by, he doesn't... really get it, but he's pressing on regardless, suddenly a bit hopeful. ] And that maybe I could find someone I know on this. So I figured I should introduce myself so uh... Hey, I'm Obito Uchiha of the Uchiha clan from Konohagakure. [ Have an awkward wave and although he tries to keep a cool expression, he's failing because WOW this is uncomfortable and awkward. It's like talking to a mirror or something.

There's a long pause as he tries to figure out what next to say. ]

I've already been explained some things, so there's no need for that I guess. There's only one thing I'm wondering about though... [ He hesitates again for a moment. ] Does anyone remember dying before they came here?

[ And now it just got more awkward. Quickly: ] Uh, that's all! [ OBITO OUT. ]

[Jesse maybe goes overboard, maybe. A little. He buys a German chocolate cake, and then a cheesecake, and then a few boxes of cookies, and then also a box of doughnuts because he isn't sure what kind of sweet this kid's into. So when he comes walking up to the apartment building, he's trying to balance the whole stack under his chin.]

[ Obito's waiting outside, his back against the wall, staring up at the sky until he catches sight of the guy and kind of has to do a double take at that stack. That's definitely going overboard. He hurries over to help and take some of the stuff to make the whole balancing act easier. ]

You didn't have to get this much!

Oh, hey! Yeah, I know, but I figured... Why not? Nobody's around to tell you not to rot your teeth, right?

[But he'll let Obito ease some of the burden, since it's his food and all.]

[ He's curiously peering into one of the boxes and being amazed at the food. ] True. Oh man, mom would have such a fit if she saw all this.

[ He looks back to Jesse with his first real, genuine grin since arriving here. ] Really thanks, I'll have to repay you somehow.

Oh, no no. Please, no. I love doing this, you know. I'm like an unofficial greeter, yo. It's fun for me.

You think you can carry all this stuff up to your room or you want me to help?

That's very nice of you. But still, how about a favor then? A favor from an Uchiha is a big deal, you know.

[ He's about to say that he'll be fine carrying it all, but then thinks better of it when he remembers all the times he's already bumped into stuff due to a lack of depth perception and it'd be a real waste if he dropped all that food. So he sucks it up, food over pride. ] I could probably use the help, sorry.

[He figured, but he knows kids get annoyed when you think they can't do stuff.]

And, uh... I guess you can owe me a favor if you want, but this is kinda one of those the joy of giving opportunities, you know? I just like helping out.

[Jesse's hands are full, anyway. And he keeps his pace slow to accommodate Obito.]

You know, my girlfriend had an eyepatch for a while, too. She looked pretty badass. And I think eventually you get used to the whole... half-vision thing. Or at least she did.

Heh, I should find a cool eyepatch. I know I'll get used to it eventually, but it's such a pain right now. Taijutsu is going to be so much harder now too. [ SIGH. ]

What happened to it? 'cause I could get you a doctor or something...

Oh no, that's okay. It's already been treated. It's just— gone.

[He was afraid of that. His gaze drops to the floor for a second before returning to Obito.]

[ He doesn't look bothered in the slightest, because he isn't as it's in much better hands now, and just shrugs. ]

You know, this place has some pretty advanced technology. I bet they could give you a transplant, like, in no time.
