Uh. Anyone wanna help out with an open mic night tomorrow? I don't think I'll be making it. Which is probably bad, since it's my bar. Don't worry though, the barmaid is really great. I'm sure she'll...make drinks. She just might need some help with everything else.
...I can pay you in ice cream? A-and it's for a good cause!
(OoC: Yosuke has been planning an open mic night fundraiser to re-open The Cat's Eye after Rain's and Fai's departures. He sent an ad in to the paper and everything...but he was abducted for round two of the Newcomer Hunt and he's not feeling up to playing host yet. Possibility of a permanent job at the bar for anyone who responds and works out alright!)

Do you want company or not?
no subject
[Okay, he normally wouldn't admit that. But if he didn't you might really leave. And that sucks worse than coming off a little pathetic.]
no subject
Then I'm here for you!
[Keigo sits on the edge of the bed, being careful to keep a not-gay distance between them.
He wants to be able to eat hot dogs again some day.]no subject
Y'r a good friend, Kei-chi.
no subject
He tries for a joke.]
Of course I am. And of course it took you this long to realize it.
What do you want to talk about?
no subject
no subject
[Yes, his exciting life. But if Yosuke wants to hear a story...]
You know, the other day at work-
[Keigo launches into a spirited retelling of a guest who complained about the buffet food at a fancy dinner party and how one of the waitstaff who was quitting soon decided to get back at her.]
And then he says, [He has to stop because he's laughing too much.] He says, "I thought you wanted it rare!"
no subject
Hah...yeah. Gooddun.
no subject
He just wants company, anyway. Keigo tries to think of something else to talk about.]
I bought a new game a couple of days ago.
[He then launches into a description of the gameplay and plot that would put many video game journalists to shame in its thoroughness. It is most likely also boring as hell if you don't care about the game.]

[Yosuke twitches his fingers again, in what would be a clumsy, fond sort of petting gesture if he could move his arm of his own free will. It's probably for the best that he can't.]
We c'n playyit.
no subject
Sure. I'll kick your ass at it as soon as you feel good enough to go back home.
no subject
[It's a fond reply, different to the snarky ones Keigo is used to. But it's definitely genuine.]
Thanks. Man. Yorra-a good friend, 'k?
no subject
no subject
Losta corpse guy? Hmmm, 'k!
no subject
That's him. He's my friend from home. Even if he doesn't always act like it.
no subject
[Another finger twitch. Consider yourself mentally clapped on the shoulder, Keigo.]
no subject
[He doesn't sound like he believes it, but that may be lost on a drug-fuzzed mind.]
Should I let you sleep some more?
[He'll keep talking if Yosuke wants him to, but he's starting to wonder if he should let him rest.]
no subject
[Drug fuzzed or not, apparently he knows the feeling. But rather than elaborate, he drifts into staring comfortably at the wall for a bit. At least until Keigo seems to be getting ready to leave. Then, his eyes widen and the part of his spine he can move straightens, and he stares.]
Sleep. Yeah...no. No, don't wanna. Jus' -you can jus' stay here. 'K? Right theresa...a good place. F'r you. Stay. Sit.
Oh wow, this one slipped through the cracks.
[Who is he to turn down someone wanting him to hang around?
Keigo stays quiet, though, to give Yosuke a chance to go back to sleep.]
No worries dude!
[He's obviously relieved by that. His spine relaxes and he sinks back into the pillows, with a quiet and slightly pained "oof!" It was probably a little too sudden, but it's not easy to be precise in his movements at the moment.
His eyelids start to droop pretty quickly, but he stubbornly fights to keep them open. A little casting around for conversation topics gives him something to try and focus on to keep the sleep at bay.]
Hmm. 'Scloudy in'ere, huh?
no subject
Cloudy. Maybe you should keep your eyes closed.
[Yosuke looks like he's ready to drift off to sleep any second. Keigo doesn't know why he's fighting it.]
no subject
[But he doesn't. He squirms a bit and grimaces, pale and pained and pathetic. But totally not alone! Keigo gets another weak grin, just for existing and being in the same room.]
I always wanted a...uh. Hose. No. House. An ice pop house. To keep the garden toad in. 'Cause I thought we could plant a gard'n 'n the windows when there's ...you know. Windows. Grow some spinach? And yeah. 'Cause she won't have a cat. You know?
[He babbles on like that for a while, but eventually words get harder. He gives his throat a rest and stares, glassy-eyed. He's quiet now, and having a hell of a time keeping his eyes open. In fact, he's leaning a bit and starting to -yep, there's a head bob! Though it gets a pained whine of protest when his body jerks, and his eyes open slowly again.]
Think I...think I can't stay 'wake.
no subject
Still, Keigo makes a note of it. He never knew when he might need some blackmail material.
After a respectful amount of time has passed for the reminder to not be so raw.
Maybe.]
Oh yeah?
[Maybe he can give him a reason to stop fighting it.]
How about first person to go to sleep gets out of loading the dishwasher the next time the sink is full?
no subject
I don' think I c'n do it anyway.
no subject
Then go to sleep because it's killing me to watch you try to fight it.
