Video: Fifth Trick

[The video kicks on and Loki is sitting cross legged on a roof, view of buildings in the background behind him, the NV is propped up so the view is at an angle. The hood of his zip front sweatshirt pulled over his face, casting a shadow. Green eyes fairly glow from under the shade of that hood. He's smiling and it's just a bit sharp, a bit smug as he carefully plucks up and eats a blue M&M from a bowl of entirely blue M&M's, a can of Redbull held loosely in his right hand.]

Blizzard.

Rather inconvenient. [The smile grows more sly.] For some people, anyway.

For others, well, perhaps it is better that some of us are on the straight and narrow. [A grinning pause] Mostly.

[He pops another blue M&M into his mouth, chewing silently while he considers]

Boring, boring, boring. The walls are closing in. You know what happens then? Some real fun. Not yet, but soon. You'll know when it starts.

Three times a week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, from approximately thirty minutes before Sirens to whenever you are finished. Pay by the job, not the hour.

Skye needs someone to unload deliveries and stock supply cabinets.

Mm. I can do that.

[Not as fun as going through people's personal affects and deciding what to nick, but less likely to see him in jail before he could grow facial hair.]

Dock operator, technically. You'll need to come in with me to meet with the PR person, but she'll hire anyone I bring in.

Mm. And is this going to be one of those things where I ought to behave, or only when people are looking?

It's always best to not get caught, to be seen as above reproach. And you're on your own if you do get caught.

But hospitals are full of gossips and information.

I'm very good at appearing above reproach. [And getting caught? Pfft. Teleportation.]

And what sorts of gossip should I be focusing on? Surely nothing so idle as who is schtupping whom?

[This is more amusing than it should be.]

Double dealing, affiliation, bill practises, kick backs. Though do please ignore anyone enquiring on my behalf.

[He's getting chased by nurses. It's a little annoying.]

[Remind him of that. He'd turn all his fingerprint oils into maggots. But video tape? Ehh... suddenly footage of honeybadgers.]

I speak everything. [There's a bit of smug superiority in that, but it's not personal.]

No murder for hire or off the books experimentations? [He's going to tell all the nurses you're single and looking, but terribly shy. And give them all recipes for Jewish comfort food. Including the male nurses. It's good to keep an open mind, after all.]

Even still. Extremely few know more than a few phrases.

[He's fluent.]

Shouldn't be any of either going on at Skye.

[Key word being shouldn't.

Loki, he'd throttle you and think little of it. Between Emma and Lucifer, he's not available.]

Few mortals, I would presume. [He's insufferable sometimes, but then again, so is Thor where god things are concerned.] Is that what I ought to speak to you in about these details?

Shouldn't. Oh yes, I know how that goes, too. [You'd have to prove it was him. And that's usually a tough gig, his poker face is epic. Prepare for the onslaught.]

I'd prefer Shi'Ar, fewer still know that.

[If Loki can manage it, as it's a partly telepathic language.]

[He has other moles in Skye.]

[He can do telepathy, though not as well as he used to. Just reprimand him if he starts attempting to control or wander into your mind. It won't be purposeful.] Now where oh where did you learn that.

Do they keep after hours? Do you need any executives driven mad? [Half laughing] I did this thing once, with Norman Osborn- ah, you don't want to know that. [Still a hint of laughter]

Then I will keep an ear out. [Though he may have to start some counter rumors in the process, he'll give you a heads up as to what to ignore. And well, big eyes and apologizes tend to work on all things, besides, he doesn't know you're with Emma and Lucifer. So that's mitigation right there.]

[He will. And he's not without his own defences, his mind is almost painful if he is passively resisting, and downright painful when he is fighting.] Charles. Where else?

There's a staff at all times, the emergency clinic is open all hours. Pyke runs a tight ship with executives, he's a good sort. You'll like him. Started the medical centre as a way of flipping off his family.

[He liked Dr. Pyke as well.]

[He's more Lucifer's pet and that particular archangel is as jealous as his Father, giving someone naturally inclined towards monogamy more reason to be so.]

Oh. Right. [Sheepish because yeah, he forgot.]

His family did not approve of his being a healer? [Considers] His ship must not be that tight if there are kickbacks and the like going on. I was told it's rather bad, but I could ah- talk someone into poking around the paper aspects and reporting back to me.

[And by talk he means mind control, of course.]

Very welcome. [Oops. Well, at least he can enjoy the comfort food that all the pretty and handsome fawning nurses will give?]

You'll understand when you meet him. He's rather unconventional.

[He snorts.]

I double deal. Most do of those lower on the rungs do. Those in charge do not. Some of us are simply better able to keep our mouths shut about it.

[So amused. Except not really.]

Mm. Then I will also keep an ear out for any asking about you in a -ah- non interested sort of way.

[Loki will be amused and in his book, that's what counts most.]

I would be grateful.

[Just don't forget you are dealing with a reusable thermonuclear device with a hair trigger and proven record of being willing to do so who also has no idea what the phrase 'proportionate response' means and everything should be fine.]

So long as I get to do something devious at some point. For good, of course.

[He's used to Odin, who decreed Loki would cause Ragnarok. And then, in order to prevent Loki from causing Ragnarok, disemboweled one of Loki's sons, tied Loki to a rock using said son's intestines and let a serpent drip poison into his eyes for a few hundred years in one of his lifetime.]

Oh, you will.

[He's not quite as bad as Odin, but the island is also very small.]

Excellent.

[Loki's aces at avoiding people. Even on a small island. Besides, he'd do the cute big eyed apology thing. That works on most people.]

Depends on how long ice raptor laser tag lasts. But I could make time.

[Raptors are always a good subject change.]
