[When the feed comes on, it’s pretty clear it’s not on purpose. The screen is mostly looking up at the sky, though the corner of it seems to catch something made of ice. Just off screen, a pair of voices can be heard arguing.]

[An indignant huff.] Well, you're not. Move; I can't do anything like this.

You don't have to do anything. Just lay there and stay still. [Sounds of shuffling.] Is that better?

Only because you've barely been in it the past two weeks. [A sound like there’s some sort of physical struggle going on.

[And then a thud.] Ow! Shirou-chan, you're being too rough!

I think Shirou-chan would suit her quite well.

It's a she? [Hinamori glances up at Captain Kuchiki's response, then turns back down to the kitten.] Hello. Shirou-chan. [It seems all the more appropriate now.]

[To Hitsugaya:] Do you have a better name picked out?

[Just run right over him, why don't you?] No. But it's stupid to call the cat the same thing you still call me -- even though you're not supposed to be calling me that.

[Don't worry, he will.]

All the more reason to name the kitten that. Perhaps she will remember not to call you that.

[Why no, he's not amused at all.Nope. Nuh uh. Not him.]

I bought her supplies at the mall. I will put them in your room if you would like.

[And she beams back up at Captain Kuchiki. (Girl just can't stop smiling.)] Thank you.

[He's just going to cringe at that cooing. ("Shirou-chan, you're so little!" Seriously??)] I am not calling her that.

[Glaring up at you a little, Kuchiki. Not that he expects you to care. He knows you're going along with this just to be a troll.]

[Byakuya inclines his head a little to Hinamori and ignores Hitsugaya's glaring. He's too amused to be bothered by it.]

[Oh, he can't help it.]

I would have, of course, discussed it with you before hand, if there had been time, Hitsugaya-taichou.

[You two fight it out over there. Hinamori is going to play with a kitten on the lawn.]

[Sigh.] I never said we couldn't keep her.

[He can't deny Hinamori something that's made her so happy. He just objects to the name.]

[See, he knows how to manipulate you now. He will use it to his advantage, eventually. Because he's an asshole like that.]

Then I will move her things into Hinamori-fukutaichou's room.

I took the liberty of scheduling her for an exam. I will, of course, pay for it.

An exam? [Oh, a veterinary exam. But she'll roll with her original impression, because it's cuter.] Don't worry; Shirou-chans are very smart. I'm sure you'll pass with flying colors. [Still talking to the kitten, obviously.]

[Keep that up, and you'll piss him off in a bad way, Kuchiki. That's using Hinamori as a tool. Which is being an asshole more to her than to him and he will get up in your face about it in a very unfunny way.]

[He almost wants to put his face in his hands when Hinamori starts talking about how smart "Shirou-chans" are. But he's been undignified enough today to last him for months. So his shoulders just sag a little.]

[He will only use his powers for good.]

[He'll turn for the house.]

Hitsugaya-taichou, Hinamori-fukutaichou.

[And he'll just head into the house and be amused and put the kitten's stuff in Hinamori's room.]

[She carries the kitten over to Hitsugaya-kun.] You want to say hello? ['Cause either way, you are. Said kitten is getting balanced carefully on Hitsugaya's head.]

[... He doesn't even know why he's surprised that Hinamori puts the kitten on his head. She's carefully balanced, but he can feel tiny paws poking at his hair. He doesn't move, not wanting the little thing to fall off. And also just plain not knowing what the hell to do.

[Which the kitten seems to take as an invitation to lie down and curl up on top of his head. He can feel the little contented sigh. Okay, no. This is ridiculous.

[Carefully and gently, he lifts the kitten off his head.] My head is not your pillow.

[The kitten just mews at him and tries to reach out her little paws again.]

Awww, she knows a kindred spirit when she sees one. [She's not even the slightest bit teasing here. Just being honest and enjoying her two Shirou-chans together. She reaches over to pet the kitten in Hitsugaya's hands.]

[A bit of eyerolling here.] Right. I'm sure we have so much in common.

[The kitten had started to purr when Hinamori petted her, but now she's scrunching her face up a little, almost as though she's trying to mimic his expression. It's like she knows.]

[Hinamori just laughs.] Well, apparently she shares your passion for sleeping, if that's anything to go by.

[Flat look.] She's a cat. They sleep a lot; it's nothing special.
