[The feed opens from the interior of Sephiroth's office at Violet Systems; he'd needed some time away from a house of sick friends to order his thoughts. The decor around him is largely white, with silvery accents of stainless steel and brushed aluminum, highlighted here and there with purple tones. It is a modern setting: sparse and state-of-the-art. All the white and his own natural paleness is contrasted greatly to the dark uniform of the SOLDIER that he is: he knows well how to make a statement; this is the General speaking more than the man.]

Good afternoon, Siren's Port. [A pause -- brief, but carefully calculated.] Or as good an afternoon as it can be, with a number of people still sick. At least there is more hope of a cure now, however...delayed it might be in getting to non-natives.

[But that is an argument that's been addressed several times over, across the Network and back again. And while it probably could be addressed again -- change is brought about only through persistence -- this is not such a time. There is something else he wishes to address in the current forum.]

And a celebration to attend, as I am sure everyone has seen by now. But I'm sure we've also all seen the hatred directed at Newcomers, especially recently with the outbreak of this disease. I'm sure we all have our own experiences with it.

[Another pause, a bit briefer than the first. There is no need to dwell upon what they have all experienced in some form or the other.]

What Mister Creed proposes is a celebration of life, and I would like for it to remain that way. I know I've made this request before, for the convention of Newcomer businesses. I am now asking again for a few good men and women to help me in the endeavor of keeping the peace for this event. All interested parties, please do not hesitate to contact me. The NPP is already hard at work with their planning, and the seventh is not long away.

[Another pause, and the barest of smiles.] Thank you, everyone, for your time.

Within reason. I'm anticipating protestors at the least. I don't want to give them more fuel for their fire, but when it becomes about safety, the gloves come off.

Are we going to be allowed to carry weapons?

[She wants to know what she's getting into. She prefers brawling and hand to hand, but... ya know, not everyone does.]

Also, are we going to be allowed to carry restraints?

Again, within reason -- to both. We can't look like we're mobilizing some sort of Newcomer militia; that's only going to work against us in the long run. But we're also there to keep the peace, and sometimes that odes require force for the greater good.

I'm assuming the police force will put in a good show, so even if we can only carry zip ties until we can turn them over to proper authorities - and keep in mind, I'm thinking not only of native but Newcomers too - that might work in our favor. With alcohol being served the drunk and disorderly rate is going to rise.

Undoubtedly. I have no illusions that it will be only natives that hold the potential for causing trouble. But we will also have the daylight hours working to our advantage, as Mister Creed is planning to have everything disassembled well before sirens each night. It's in our favor.

[A weak smile, then she drags the blanket around herself more.]

I've never known daylight to stop people from getting drunk.

[He won't keep her too long. Resting is important to the recovery process, something he can well respect with a house full of ill friends himself.]

Whereas I've always been the baby and usually the designated nondrinker. But when you've got people who can throw tanks and fly? Being on drunk duty sucks.

I'm not unfamiliar with the situation. But I do not think it will be too much an issue in here; I hope to staff enough coverage to be able to respond to any incidents before they can turn to true altercations.

Nononono! Oh god. Not genetic experiments, well, not the biggest chunk of them. We're mutants. We're born with a set of genetic code that gives us extra powers. It activates during puberty.

[Genetic experimentation freaks her the hell out.]

But mutation, experimentation...the end result amounts to much the same, individuals with abilities outside of what is considered 'normal.'

[She's on pain medication and not thinking straight. Plus, with the recent brush with genetic experiments...]

Sorry. Just... had some recent experience with genetic experimentation and it didn't end well.
