electricitytrick: (it's all right I know I'm brilliant)

Escape 01 | Video

[It takes some fumbling around, but eventually Anders thinks that he does have the strange magical amulet working like he was told that it would. Well, presuming that this isn't a strange plan to make him feel like a fool, that is. He does wonder that part a little as he clears his throat and offers a bright smile to whoever might be watching him.]

While I'm still rather new to this whole 'kidnapped from everything you know' bit and trying to get used to it all, one thing I can tell is when a healer might come in handy. Now I might be reading this wrong, but it seems like there's a bit of an illness going around, yes? I haven't had the chance to find out much more than that, but... I'd like to help, if I can.

[He shrugs and his smile edges just a little towards being nervous.]

I don't know what sorts of opinions people have on mages and magic here either, but hopefully no one's about to go running to the Chantry to turn me in? Or at least be the type to give a man a head start first, I hope.

[It feels strange to try and talk to something that can't answer so, with a sigh and a small amount of fumbling with the amulet, Anders manages to turn off the feed.]

--There is no Chantry here, my friend. Not like the ones in Thedas, at least.

[This one is an elf. Tattoeed face, Dalish armor, ridiculously handsome.]

The templars would have their hands full here, considering it is a prison for everyone with - how is it they call it? - special abilities.

They say if you are but an ordinary person, you will find some new, strange power awakened within you.

It is said this place was much like a Circle in days long ago. People were sent here by boat and left to their own devices. Then the Core started behaving strangely, there was a disaster that makes monsters come out after dark, and the Core started Pulling people here.

[Let it not be said that Zev was inattentive when finding out more about his new prison, even if he had not been provided what he really wanted: a hint on how to leave.]

--Believe me, between my good looks and my many skills, I need nothing more. [Zevran has fun being a Badass Normal.]
bloodyantivan: (bloody smile)

The ones I have seen more resemble shrieks than anything else. Though some are like animals with insect parts, or flying things... While they resemble darkspawn, the way they move and the sort of corruption they spread is different than the ones I have fought. The darkness creatures also get quite a big bigger. [Yes, against all advice Zevran had decided to face the darkness himself - more than once. He's had quite enough of it for the time being, though. If it safer to travel by day, then he will do his best to only travel then.]

Like the darkspawn, they almost seem to have and endless supply. Except even if you clear out an area of this or that menace, they will be back in the same numbers the next day.

A Warden? [Zevran raises an eyebrow.] Where did you say you were from, exactly? [Because that accent sounds Ferelden, and he is clearly not one of the two remaining Wardens Zevran is currently traveling with. How strange.]
bloodyantivan: (yes?)

Tch tch. Your neck is far too pretty for a rope. [He shakes his head a little, sympathetically. If that argument actually ever worked, he'd use it to stop the Crows from slashing his throat, but, alas.]

I know not this Warden Commander. Last I heard, all but two of the Grey Wardens in Ferelden died in Ostagar.
bloodyantivan: (how distasteful.)

[personal profile] bloodyantivan 2012-05-19 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
--It is only just beginning, and I am helping the Warden gather armies in order to fight the archdemon. [It seems as though that information is irrelevant here, so he gives it freely.]

It is defeated, then? At least in your time.
bloodyantivan: (two big swords)

[personal profile] bloodyantivan 2012-05-20 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
It must be, for there is no other explanation, no?

[Why bother to worry about it? It is what it is, or if it isn't, then he knows no better.]

Tell me... I don't suppose you heard the fate of a certain handsome elf assassin who acted as companion to the amazing Warden?
bloodyantivan: (now or later?)

[personal profile] bloodyantivan 2012-05-20 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohgren? [Zevran repeats the name. Sounds dwarven. Then again, they are destined for the Deep Roads. And he does know he'll have to face his past sooner or later, never the type to run when he could end a fight.

As for the Warden Commander...]
Surely you do not mean Alistair? There's talk of him becoming King. [Which is sort of a bigger title than Warden Commander, though that, perhaps, suits him more.]
bloodyantivan: (well...)

[personal profile] bloodyantivan 2012-05-21 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
The other surviving Warden is the female heir to Highever, the Cousland girl. I was unaware of there being any others. [Could this have been some kind of lie or trap after all? How could Anders have gotten such a simple fact wrong? His deadly sex goddess hardly hid the fact she was a woman, after all.]
bloodyantivan: (badass)

[personal profile] bloodyantivan 2012-05-25 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
I accepted the bid on two warriors, a man and a woman, whose veins ran with both noble and darkspawn blood. Indeed, I cannot forget her face when she decided to spare my life and bid me to be of use of her - even if I could, I would never want to.

[Zevran is strangely solemn about this, suddenly.]

Perhaps it is one more trick of this place. Or perhaps you are lying to me for some reason. Time will tell. [He gives a satisfied little twist of a smile.]
bloodyantivan: (now or later?)

[personal profile] bloodyantivan 2012-05-27 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
[Zevran just gives the mage a look like And why would I do that? though, to be fair, Anders appears to have about as much reason as Zevran does to lie about who he is. That is: none whatsoever.]

I once overheard Alistair saying Duncan looked for recruits all over the place. Highever, the alienage, amidst the Dalish, he even looked among the dwarves...

[He shakes his head briefly.]

Well, I have no reason not to believe you. I suppose this will make reminiscing about your past and my future awkward, so, let us not speak of it further.

[Because frankly this is all beyond him.]
bloodyantivan: (well...)

Only if you tell me a tale or two of this elven mage. [He smiles.] So you will be at the newcomer clinic? While I have not yet caught the sickness... I may find myself in need of you sooner or later.
